To help keep the clutter down and to assist the admins, I have consolidated all of the Call of Destiny Series into one discussion topic. The series is actually called One Small Step out of the Garden of Eden. That doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, so readers have started referring to it as the Call of Destiny series. So in deference to my readers, I have adopted the name as well.
HE SET OUT TO FIND HIMSELF. FATE FOUND HIM INSTEAD.
High school senior Michael Gillen, living on Earth in the late twenty-fifth century, can’t wait to flee his wretched life. But when he sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream of exploring the stars at a military academy, things go from bad to worse. Will the stubborn, free-spirited, and idealistic young man wash out before realizing his dream? Will his family’s past get the best of him? Can he keep his mind off other, more enticing distractions? Will he get his chance to set off into the stars before a terrible war breaks out?
“The book has lots of good twists and an interesting futuristic society.” - Reader review
"The characters were well developed and the suspense kept me turning the pages!!" - Reader review
"As someone who generally isn't interested in science fiction, I liked this book because the people and their experiences were the focus rather than the science fiction...I enjoyed seeing the characters come into their own...I did not anticipate the ending - it was a great twist" - Reader review
A NEW TECHNOLOGY. AN EVIL TYRANT. AN UNEXPECTED MOVE.
How much is one expected to sacrifice in the service of his or her country? That’s an elusive question for the Centauries, our intrepid but haggard band of explorers. Terrae Solaris lays ravaged by conflict, and the instability of the Outer Rim threatens the very future of humanity.
An opportunity for survival emerges: a dangerous undertaking calling for the Centauries’ unique skills. But the thrown-together mission is fraught with peril—and politically motivated. Worse, the Centauries must work with the Coverts, a renegade special forces team whose leader seems to have his own agenda for the mission.
Can our explorers carry out their mission? Can they even work together anymore? What secrets from both the Centauries and Coverts’ pasts threaten the mission’s success—and their lives? And what lurks in Europa’s dark history that may undo everything?

Circling a yellow star forty-six light-years from Earth, a barren rock of a planet is coming alive. Lush forests teeming with diverse wildlife are spreading across the planet. Cities are rising into the sky. Industry and commerce press outward, bringing an unprecedented prosperity to the young, burgeoning population. At the center of the settlement, construction is making way for New Tyre, the intended capitol city of the planet—a planet the inhabitants call New Europa.
The Europan Empire is rising from the ashes!
And while the Centauries, our intrepid but haggard band of explorers, deal with the challenges of their mission, three thousand Europan warships prepare to set off and lay siege to Earth. Can our heroes stop them? Where are they?
RECENT REVIEWS “Great book … I was on the edge of my seat and couldn't put it down. … The plot is masterfully crafted. If you enjoyed the first two books, you're going to love this one. I highly recommend it.” — reader review
“… Some new villans are introduced … that I really enjoyed hating." — reader review
“Nothing is what it seems in Exodus … and the interest in the fates and actions of the characters is what keeps you invested. … the best plot twists in the series are definitely found in the last portion of this book.” — reader review
From the smoking rubble of war on a faraway planet, the surviving Centauries—our intrepid but haggard band of explorers—emerge, scarred by their terrible ordeal. Nothing is as it is supposed to be: fond reunions bring bitterness; lies exposed confess their terrible truth; an alien planet becomes home, while home has become so alien. A new day reveals an unforeseen darkness.
Back home, Terrae Solaris is in peril. Risking everything against overwhelming odds, the Centauries set off on the final leg of their unenviable journey. But once again, discord threatens to undo them. Once again, secrets from their pasts place them in peril. Once again, Europa’s dark history conspires against them. And no one counted on the one factor that may undo them all: the enemy within.
