Donnajo | 4354 comments I'll do it if I can get a nook copy from someone in time. drat if I only did a grab and run at the bookstore during the winner's party. I already had my bag of books I won. but then I knew I would never be able to go back to the store or be in next year's contest and "Win"

I didn't read The Passage. Should I read it first?

Definitely, Cathy. It's a BFB and I'm sure The Twelve will reference some of that backstory. There's also a large thread where we discussed The Passage when a bunch of us read it last year I think. In fact, now that I think of it, I'll probably go back over that thread before I start The Twelve to remind myself of the characters/story. From the little I've read so far, though, it sounds like The Twelve picks up the story at a different point.

Ann (annrumsey) | 16930 comments Cathy: it would be fun if you read it with us, The Passage was a good group discussion book.

message 11: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4354 comments I'm in on the grp read when the time comes don't know if I said that already or not.

message 12: by Carol/Bonadie (new)

Carol/Bonadie (bonadie) | 9485 comments So for those of you interested in the group read of The Twelve, sequel to The Passage by Justin Cronin, I have put a series of discussion threads, by Part, up in the Spoiler topic. I think we said we'd start in January.

message 13: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4354 comments I'm planning on starting it when I finish the boy in the suitcase.

message 14: by Sherry (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16930 comments For those that are wondering about how much they remember of The Passage, the prologue of The Twelve gives a succinct but effective summary.
I should have the audio to start by the end of the week on the first Library Saturday of 2013!

I saw that as I was logging the chapter titles. Since I have an ARC at first I thought it was some kind of summary of chapters for The Twelve, which bugged me (you know how I hate spoilers). Then I peeked a little more closely and saw it was a summary of The Passage.
