If your an author here is a place to advertise your book!
And even if you write informally here is a place to post links to your writing so others can give you feed back on it. :)

Allie | 457 comments I've been writing a book for a couple months, it's not done yet but I've had a few people read it and so far they've loved it so I decided to make a link, comments and suggestions would be nice.

Here's the link: http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3...

(Tell me if the link doesn't work my laptop has been known to screw these things up.)

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome! i'll definitely check that out.
I have started about 100000 stories in my life time and finished 1 of them, which of course happened to be in 4th grade when all I was interested in were fairies. So yeah, that one's not very interesting. I guess you'd say I have writer's block. :(

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Your story's AMAZING. I am sooo jealous.

Here's my current work that I will probably (definitely) not finish. It's called The Lucky Ones.

message 15: by Inda (new)

Inda (indaherwood) Awesome. How long did it take you to write it?

message 16: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Lewis (rebeccalewis) | 5 comments It took about a year and a half to write, edit, give to Beta readers, and edit again.

message 17: by Inda (new)

Inda (indaherwood) Wow.....if that isn't dedication I don't know what is. I hope it has much success ;)

message 19: by Emily (new)

Emily | 21 comments I'm in the midst of writing a book myself. I'm pretty far into it. My dad's cousin knows a publisher. I'm going to try and finish it by the end of summer. I've been kind of blocked lately, so I'm not sure if it will be finished by the end of summer. It's called Take My Word for It, but that's all I'm revealing.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm trying to write a book too, but I keep gettin stuck and it's just boring to right. I'm trying to get past that 'beginning of a book' phase cos that part is always boring.

message 21: by Emily (new)

Emily | 21 comments It took me forever to get past the beginning. You have to have patience and put a lot of time into it.

message 22: by T.J. (new)

T.J. | 218 comments I just got past my beginning and now I am having writer's block :(

message 23: by Emily (new)

Emily | 21 comments Sometimes you just need to take time off. I've had writer's block for almost three months at one point. To get over my writer's block I watched a lot of movies and read other authors' books to try and get inspiration.

message 24: by Inda (new)

Inda (indaherwood) I've had an idea in my head for a few months about a book idea and finally put it to paper the other day. It will probably be a novella, but I was hoping I could post it on the GoodReads author page. I haven't had writers block, but I can't think of a name yet.

message 25: by T.J. (new)

T.J. | 218 comments I always take a shower when I have writer's block. It usually helps clear my head and I come out with an idea.

message 26: by Inda (new)

Inda (indaherwood) That makes sense. You have quiet time to think.

message 27: by Nikki (new)

Nikki Chartier (nikchartier) Hot showers always help clear my mind too. I come up with great "breakthroughs" to my books in the shower lol.

My best advice is to start with action or something big happening in the beginning. It makes it easier to power through it. And if you get stuck, throw something random at your characters so they have to react. :) Plotting & brainstorming is one of my favorite parts of being a writer.

Inda (indaherwood) This is to anyone who has even the slightest clue. I'm trying to publish my first book on amazon, but I'm not sure how to do copyrighting so I don't get sued for using a product name or have someone steal my book. If anyone, and I mean ANYONE, has a freaking clue how to do this, then you'd be a life saver. THANK YOU

Nikki Chartier (nikchartier) Hi everyone!

With the holidays coming up soon, I would like to get a few more reviews on a few of my books, and I wanted to offer free review e-copies for my Saturn series. It revolves around the boyband, Spaceships Around Saturn, so I thought there'd be no better place to ask than here.

The books I'm offering copies of are American Girl on Saturn and Kids in Love.

If you're interested in reviewing either of these in the next month, please send me a message. :D

Thank you!
