Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Yeah, it was great. I agree on your opinion about the romance though. I have Don't go chasing waterfalls to read later. Wish my library had the other 3 shorts. pfft Patience woman!

Susie | 314 comments I need a recommendation for a finished PNR series featuring shapeshifters or Highlanders (PNR or just regular historical). I need me some hot blooded alpha males lol! And the sooner the better, I started reading a book that I can't get into because of the authors writing style so I need a replacement. Thanks!

Aileen | 867 comments Just finished Blue-Blooded Vamp (Sabina Kane, #5) by Jaye Wells , it was...meh. Not as good as the rest. And about to start Tempt the Stars (Cassandra Palmer, #6) by Karen Chance *squeals with happiness*

message 3610: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments There is Melissa Mayhue's Daughters of the Glen. There are 8 books in it, but there is a new series that started after it which is at like 2 or 3 books with a short story so far. It is timetravel/medieval Scotland with fae/the mcs are decendants of a sort. I personally really like the series and have read it a few times.

message 3611: by Susie (new)

Susie | 314 comments yeah I looked at that series last night but unfortunately my library doesn't have it. thanks though.

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments That's kinda weird since that is what usually happens to me--my library never has the stuff I am looking for. That is the first series that popped into my head. I can't think of a finished series with that stuff in it, sides KMM's highlander series and Riley Jensen--I think you tried/read that already though. I am confident that the other slackers ... erm guys here will have more suggestions!

Finished:
A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness
It took me a while to finish this book, once I hit the 50% mark it kinda slowed down for me. (I also got a few new books that I wanted to read asap :P) It was soooo long too ... wtf. That says something for me since I have read books a lot longer than this one!

Mello ❣ Illium ✮Harry✮ ☀Myrnin☀ Torin Ichimaru | 2012 comments Finished Fate Book by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff and I loved it. Didn't put it down. Probably, I should be going to sleep, but I'm gonna start Six Degrees of Lust (By Degrees, #1) by Taylor V. Donovan instead.

Ok so most of mine are unfinished series the ones that are done are.....
Tielle St. Clare her wolfs heritage or shadow dragon were pretty good.
Karen Whiddon not sure if her wolf series is done or not but its popping in my head.
G.A. Aiken her dragon kin not done but one of my favs.
For a historical I have Grace Burrowes or Susan Sizemore-(only read couple of her historicals but I liked them. Also Courtney Milan her brothers sinister I liked.
Hope this helps.

message 3616: by Susie (new)

Susie | 314 comments Thanks. I have read Aiken's series and LOVED it! I've read Sizemore's Primes series and Like that too but the library didn't have her books. They had Burrowes' and Milan's but they were checked out so I have to wait. And they didn't have any of the others.

Thanks again.

that actually sounds really interesting, and something I think I could get into to.
I prefer real life issue's rather than issue's being there for the sack of the characters having to have issue's.
something that always cracks me up is when a characters problem is everyone likes her too much and she has to choose between like 3 perfect guys. wish I had those problems :P

I cannot WAIT for Fiery Heart to come out!!!! I love Richelle Mead, but I also kind of hate her for the emotional turmoil I get from her. She's almost as bad as KC sometimes...

message 3625: by Aileen (new)

Aileen | 867 comments Finished Tempt the Stars (Cassandra Palmer, #6) by Karen Chance ...still processing...really want Masks like TODAY...but I will push through the pain that is cliffhangers from KC...

Still reading Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill (took a break for TtS) and it's...alright so far...we will see how it goes.

LMAO that's for sure!! Mead is so evil. I remember the VA series and the massive cliff hangers, made me want to pull my hair out!! lol
thank goodness no one's dead is Bloodlines - yet. lol.

message 3627: by Aileen (new)

Aileen | 867 comments I originally thought Shadow Kiss was the end of the VA books, THEN I heard that Dimitri DIED at the end before I ever read it, so through the entirety of Shadow Kiss I was just bawling over it, because I thought that's how the series was going to end!! Then I found out there would be SIX books and will I wasn't HAPPY, I was a lot less upset...

message 3628: by ♥ Ashleigh ♥ (new)

♥ Ashleigh ♥ Contrary to popular belief I'm not actually mad! (cheshire_red) I was a bit bummed by the end of that series, I wanted to know what happened to rose and D but I suppose she did it this way cause now bloodlines kind of keeps you updated about them.

message 3636: by Diane (new)

Diane (FriskyVamp) | 372 comments I'm also reading Tempt the Stars along with everyone else. I read a lot slower then most of you. Now I'm glad cause some of you are already done with it and have to wait forever for the next. lololol Then we get to do it all over again. Sheesh

message 3637: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LOL, Dianne! It is kinda funny. We bitch about having to wait a year for a book, then devour it in one day!! You're probably wiser to take it slow. :)

message 3638: by Aileen (new)

Aileen | 867 comments I tried to take it slow...I did...still finished it in under 24 hours...I was very good and took a break to sleep and digest what I had read. Because if I didn't I would have exploded.

message 3639: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I finished it in about 4ish hours... and only cause I got interrupted by my weekly 1 hour therapy session lol

message 3640: by Susie (new)

Susie | 314 comments wait 4 hours??? it's over 400 pages long. You must be a fast reader. I read slow since I read it like a dialogue.

message 3641: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments It took longer than usual. Some of the UF books I can read in 90 minutes. Average is 2.5 hours I think. I do read really fast :)

message 3642: by Aileen (new)

Aileen | 867 comments I feel like a slacker now...not with TtS, I intentionally took that one slow, but for all other books...

message 3643: by Llaph (new)

Llaph (llaph) | 3285 comments Hah, when I could still see I read about that fast. It is just something you pick up I guess. If I didn't get something I would go back and read it rq. Since I am stuck with text to speech's speed I can read about 100 pages an hour. Though, it does depend on the book. Some books just seem to read really fast ... hi IA and J.R.Ward books I'm talking about you.
My dad and I read the same book once, it took me a few hours and him days and days. He just reads slower.

message 3644: by Margo (new)

Margo | 663 comments well I usually need, like, 8 hours for 400 pages and till today I thought it's not so bad, but clearly, I was mistaken :/

message 3645: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I'm probably going to read it slowly over the weekend. I'll try to pace it out over three days. Not sure if I'll succeed, but I'll try!

Margo, what did you think of Tempt the Stars (without spoiling anything)? Better or worse than the last couple of books?

message 3646: by Margo (new)

Margo | 663 comments It was really good, but I was laughing much more while reading Hunt the Moon (Cassandra Palmer, #5) by Karen Chance , so if I have to compare those two, I would have to say that Hunt the moon would win, but TtS has so many things going on on so many different levels that the humor is not needed in some cases and sometimes it would be inappropriate. So I'm still a fan of the series it just drives me crazy that I have to wait so long for the books to come out :(

message 3647: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments I sympathise on the long wait. :(

Maybe Tempt the Stars is a book that needs a couple of reads to really appreciate it, if there's so much going on. I'm still patiently waiting on my copy to arrive so I can't judge yet.

message 3648: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I forgot what my recorded speed was at, cause I took one of those reading tests, it was pretty high, but not as high as speed readers.

Someone told me fast readers read it like straight up, and slower readers can hear and see it like a movie, but I do hear and see it like my own personal movie sooo.... don't know lol

message 3649: by Margo (new)

Margo | 663 comments I always see and hear it like a movie LOL :D

message 3650: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments Oh man.. I cannot wait till I get my hands on the book. Hopefully will get it this weekend :) Fingers crossed.
