Boy was I wrong! I bought the second gen Kindle with some Christmas money. I have never regretted it and have updated both times they have updated the normal Kindle. It is really impossible not to love. The pages are just like reading on a book, its light, convenient, and it hides those books you may not want everyone knowing you are reading. One of the biggest reasons I love it is the consistent size. I am one of those people that carries a book everywhere they go. That kind of cuts down on your book choices sometimes. I mean you don't want anything too big or bulky when you are running around. With the Kindle I don't even have to think about it because every book is the same size. Plus I get to carry several books instead of just one! It also has given me some extra space around the house. Now when I go on a book haul it doesn't require me buying a new book shelf lol.
Honestly I cannot sing the E-readers praises enough! I will say I do still read regular books, but the longer I have my Kindle the less frequent that has become.

Maybe one day, when it is needed to have an e-reader I will get one, but until then I am more than happy with normal books.

I have an iPad. And I use it a lot, mostly for reading and keeping track of my books. I have Kindle app installed in my iPad also, but I still love reading using iBooks app. So mostly I get my books from iBooks store. I don't use Kindle app much in my iPad, only if the books are not available in iBooks store.
With iBooks app, I can categorize my books according their series or the authors. So they are very neat. Not sure if I can do that also with Kindle because I have only 6 books in my Kindle apps, so I don't have to worry about grouping them.

I don't personally have an ipad, but I always thought the point of a kindle was the fact it had a book like feel in the way it looked like paper and didn't reflect like a tablet. That's what really bugs me about the kindle fire because it's a tablet and goes against the whole non reflective surface (plus why do you need apps for a reading tool :l - I could rant) but the same I'd say for an ipad in my opinion.

more of my book and later be be on 200 and I'll think... Huh?

more of my book and later..."
It's the location number, not page number. Kindle books use percentage complete (lower right-hand corner) and location (lower left-hand corner) to show you where you are in the book.
If you're looking to post your status on GR, you can click the word page and instead of "I'm on page...." It'll change to "I'm ___ done."

I would highly recommend Sony Readers to anyone that is looking to get an eBook reader.
I used to have a Sony Touch PRS-600, but my mother set a book on it, and it broke. So, I decided that touch screens are too flimsy. And, got a normal eReader.
The major difference is that the PRS-300 only has 400MB of space, and will not take a SD card or Memory Pro card (when the PRS-600 will use both). It's good enough for me. People do NOT need to have 2000+ eBooks on an eReader at once, anyhow, since it'd take them years to read that many!
If you want to read eBooks on your PC, I recommend Foxit Reader for .PDF, and FB Reader for .ePub and .mobi books. Both are free programs. Just search Bing for them.

However, if a book is that good, I want the physical copy too. That's now my marker for a good book (plus I go for three-for-twos, and waterstones card points, which I used to get The Casual Vacancy for free)

I would recommend the Kobo Arc to anyone!
Can someone help me? I need to know how to put a epub onto my NOOK. I was sent one through my email but I don't know what to do?
Thanks for the help!!!

You need to have Adobe Digital Editions to add Epub books to your nook. You can download it here http://www.adobe.com/products/digital... (and sign up for an Adobe account to authorize it you need to use the same email address you used for your Barnes and Noble Account) Once you do that all you have to do is download the epub file from your email and save it to the My Digital Editions folder. Then plug in your Nook, Open the Adobe Digital Editions program (be sure to create a shortcut on your desktop), Click on the book title in Digital Editions and then drop it onto the Nook icon in Digital Editions. Make sure to open the Nook icon to see that the file was transferred. Then click remove hardware (either the icon or by going into Device and removable storage)
Hope this helps!

I have a kindle, it's great for carrying around when traveling, I can have an entire library on there. I do miss physical books though, anything I read on kindle that I really loved and thought I'd want to read again someday I think I'd get the hard copy of it. I also miss being able to physically see how far through a book I am (not just a percentage) and I miss being able to look at the cover every time I pick up the book. (I reckon the screensavers on kindles should show the cover of whatever you're currently reading) (that would be cool)
