natalie Several characters try and take the blame in the end for what happens, but does anyone believe that it was Leo's fault (by breaking the Fortune Cookie?) I can't help but wonder if it was, or if Nemises' little message to him "Wreak vengeance on Gaea" is what she /wants/ Leo to do?

Vanessa Andujo I don't think it was Leo's fault, but I could be wrong. I got the impression early on that the trade off had to be something personal. I think that part is a way to distract the reader to what Leo's real sacrifice will be.

i think the whole thing's building up to Leo doing something unexpected and huge. cuz right now, he's sorta being overlooked.

He's a very important character, and every one of the seven most likely WILL end up playing a more vital part than you might think. They all have to work together, if one gear is missing, then the rest cant turn.

Richa I think that it may have been Leo's fault, but indirectly. I think the sacrifice was his friends. Arachne even said "A sacrifice... A beautiful sacrifice to wake the goddess." I think Leo will definitely have a very, very important role in HoH, as will Nico.

I don't think it was Leo's fault since he had to open the cookie to save Hazel, Frank, and himself.

Leah Everyone thinks that Nico will play an important part in HoH, and I agree, but we have to remember that he's only a secondary character. The seven demigods are the most important, so if Nico plays a big role it will only be to open/close the doors of death. He's not that big of a character.

yeah thats what i have always thought too.ppl kept saying that he was gonna be the 7th person in the prophecy and that he would be narrating the mark of athena but i'm just like uhh no.hes not that important

Savannah I'm thinking that one of the characters will die, which will of course by very sad, and so Nico will become the seventh demigod of the prophecy. It also says in the prophecy "an oath to make with a final breath", and someone will have to stay to lock the doors from the inside of tartarus. I also think that something will happen to make either jason, percy or leo snap, based on the line that says "to storm or fire the world must fall".

I do think that one of the 7 will die, but I don't think that they will get replaced by Nico. I don't think they'll get replaced at all.

Well somebody will die, i'm pretty sure of that, but Nico won't replace them in the prophecy or as a character.
but you get a cookie for trying (::)

I do think its because of that STUPID FORTUNE COOKIE THAT HE JUST HAD TO BREAK, but, I don't hold it against Leo because A) he didn't know that would be the price he had to pay, and B) he is my third favorite character. but I literally DIED at the stupid cliff hanger at the end. anyone know when the next book comes out????!!!!!!!

Django Well, it was break the cookie, or have you and two of your friends die.

Idk, i think it'd have to be somebody already on the other side.(Percy or Annabeth)-between the two of them Percy would probably stay behind, even after some arguing. As much as i want it to be somebody i dont really like (like frank), i think it might have to be one of them. if not, maybe even Leo (he might feel like he has to-nobody will miss him-always the "seventh wheel")...Just my thoughts.
