Karen Lowe | 1338 comments ...its actual title is Pistolsmithing made easy...!!!
Think I should get it and start skilling up for Armageddon?

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments It's just what I've been waiting for. Need to lay in some stocks for zombie apocalypse, and it's always nicer to make your own.

Emma Faragher | 301 comments If there's a zombie apocalypse you'd have to be able to make your own. I don't imagine the munitions factories will sill be up and running!

Just one free craft book today. If you don't fancy making pistols you can have a go at banjo making instead!

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Well I have to say, having read Ten Billion there is no other option but learning to shoot. But am sure all my homecraft skills will be of use shortly. Saving the kilner jars now.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Just posted pic of VW cushion - not entirely happy with it cos the spotty background shows through the white top & I'd rather have mitred the corners of the border but had already cut the strips when I'd decided so it was too late. Otherwise... fairly happy with it. Got to make another one now for daughter.

Pat () | -245 comments Lovely work. I have a machine but all it gets used for is curtains and not very often for that either. You are a Clever lady.

I can't find the photo, do you mind posting a link please, Karen.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Here's the link Karen. http://www.goodreads.com/photo/group/...

Have just started one for daughter, but this time I'm doing the white top in double fabric so the spots won't show through.

message 1036: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments I had to have a peek at the wine bottle one - we seem to amass one or two... Wasn't going to bother but then I saw the Christmassy snow covered one and it did look quite effective. And the hedgehog of corks looked intriguing. Not that we get many corks these days. So I got it.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Love your cushion Karen!
Will sook up to Phil and ask him to post picture for me Karen(Kew).I have also finished a Winnie the Pooh Birth Sampler though the baby was born some months ago.
Almost sliced my finger off when framing them. The glass was so sharp I didn't even know I had cut myself till the blood appeared on the fabric. Luckily it washed off!

message 1038: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments The dangers of crafting, Sarah! Just don't get that wine bottle craft book - goodness knows what you'd end up slicing off!

message 1039: by [deleted user] (new)

LOVE the cushion, Karen!

Ouch! Sarah!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Lovely cushion Karen, poor you Sarah, I've just finished a tie fronted bolero in Sirdar Firefly very flashy jewel colours. I can see daughter wanting that and it probably would be better on her. I started it on Saturday and finished it tonight but it was on big needles. 0 's (and they were horrible to knit with, like pokers) I'll try a photo but I'm not confident.

message 1041: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments Just finished two small baby blankets, will take a photo soon,(small blankets that is). One more to do.

Sounds lovely, I like jewel colours myself. Still quick work though, even if it was on big needles!

I've nearly finished the blanket that I am making for my neice, just a few more petals to do (it's a floral pattern) - I was getting on really well with it but put it aside in that hot weather because it's not fun working on a blanket in the heat! I need to get started again - I've also bought some of the yarn for the blanket that I will be making my sister as a wedding present. So I really need to get my motivation back and get a move on!

:0)

Love jewel colours(and jewels) Lol!

Emma Faragher | 301 comments Here is a link to my latest dress (I think, not very good at making these things work)

http://i1299.photobucket.com/albums/a...

message 1046: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Your dress is beautiful Emma and such a neat fit!

message 1047: by Emma (new)

Emma Faragher | 301 comments It was a fairly basic pattern but meant for a solid fabric with a zip so I added darts and had to take it in (I'm a weird shape apparently) and it came out way too long and had to be hemmed a good 7 inches!

message 1048: by [deleted user] (new)

Lovely samplers, Sarah - someone made one for us as a wedding present, it also has little beads sewn into it. I think that it is my favourite wedding gift.

Love the dress, too, Emma. I can't sew at all - did try to learn at school but I was always much slower than everyone else and never managed to finish anything!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Sighs - I remember having a nice waist like Emma's. The dress is lovely.

message 1050: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Love the samplers, Sarah - and I did hve another drool over the puppy pic...

And love that dress,Emma. I'd really be chuffed if I'd made something like that.
