Emma Faragher | 301 comments I've never knitted anything more than a scarf so I can't help and I'm useless with sleeves and shoulder seems anyway. It sounds good though.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Sorry Lynne, apart from suggesting you send it to my MIL to fix which is my usual solution for stitching -up.LOL!
Yay, I see Clair's teddy sooo cute!
Love the embroidery Sheilagh!

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments I think a nice braid sounds like a good idea - you could also add it around the cuffs and/or the hem so it doesn't look like you're trying to hide something :)

Thanks, Sarah! If anyone here has a piece of artwork/craftwork/photography they want to frame, they can photograph/scan the artwork and upload to Fine Art America. The artwork can then be viewed in different forms of presentation: framed/unframed/mounted on board/poster.

If you click to look at a framed version, you can select different sizes/frames/mounts to see exactly how the framed piece of artwork will look. You don't have to buy the framed print, but it will give you an idea of what it will look like and help you to decide before you take the artwork to the framers. Here's a framed photograph of a bunch of daffodils in a glass jug:

You can play around with the framing feature here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/da...

Emma Faragher | 301 comments Does anyone know of a good tiger embroidery pattern? I want to do one for my granny's birthday. Ideally a print off one would be best as in limited on time (it kind of snuck up on me) and I need to post the finished embroidery. I know a few basic stitches and can follow instructions for new stitches well. Thank you

You'll find instructions for a tiger pillow here:

Scroll down the page to "Materials" and click the "Download Template" link to download the tiger outline.

Pat () | -245 comments Just finished the first of a pair of armchair snowflake throws. 27 squares and a fringe. I am happy with it. So crack on with the next one now.

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Lovely crochet, both! Do you starch the little stars?

message 1216: by Philip (sarah) (new)

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Beautiful work Pat!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Lovely Pat, I've noticed one of my armchairs is getting a bit marked so a throw for it would be a good idea.

message 1218: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments Thanks Ladies.

Hand wash and dry flat on a towel Lexie, no starching.

27 squares Lynne but looking at the photo I think I could have done another edging row. It looks a little narrow. Funny it doesn't look quite as bad on the chair its self.

message 1219: by [deleted user] (new)

Well done, Pat - they are lovely. Much too nice to let anyone sit on them!

:0))

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Craft fair coming up! Do I have enough to fill the table?? I'd rather be writing at this stage, but I want to clear out some stuff that's been in boxes for a while, and use up some wool given by a friend whose mother died leaving it unknitted, so got to do a good job for her.
Fortunately it's indoors this time!

message 1221: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll be interested to hear how you get on, Lexie. I haven't done a craft fair yet (nearly did last year but pulled out at the last minute.)

message 1222: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments I'll keep you posted! I usually do better if someone else does the selling - customers take one look at me and back sharply away, can't think why!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments I don't like selling either, I used to have AA neighbour who could sell snow to Eskimos and we had a lovely arrangement, I made it and she sold it.
That damn cardigan is just not right. I've worn it and fidgeted with it so now I'm unpicking it!

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Just seen your crocheted stars, Pat - they are gorgeous!

Have at long last gone and tackled Pinterest cos daughter wants to share some ideas re weddings (not till 2015, so no panic. Yet.) I've managed to lose about 3 hours. Some lovely arty crafty stuff on there - I was lost in the art quilts for quite some time (once I'd tackled wedding cakes, wedding favours, and table settings)

Kay (Golden Girl) | 2193 comments Lovely throw and stars are beautiful Pat . My daughter has just bought me a crochet book so really going to try some crocheting, know the basics but never made anything since I made a poncho when my daughter was a few years old and is now 43 ,almost 40 years ago .
Have just finished knitting a baby hat and jacket for great grand daughter due in January, also knitting koala bear for expected great grand child, think I might be busy next few months ,!!

Kay I think it's like riding a bike, once learnt never forgotten. It should all come back to you once you get started.

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) Love your crocheted throws Pat - and your doilies.... I don't think I've kept any of mine to take pictures of - I usually give them away!

Thanks Flo, Yes I was surprised when I came across these three packed in a drawer while looking for knitting needles.
I have too much stuff, I really must get rid of more.

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Just realised it really must be autumn - got my knitting out this week!

I found one of my doily pictures - not figured out how to put it within this post box yet, so I've put it in group photos - it's on page 18 of the photos and it's a swans doily.

message 1232: by Kay (Golden Girl) (new)

Kay (Golden Girl) | 2193 comments Flo the swan doily is beautiful ,very talented

message 1233: by T4bsF (Call me Flo) (new)

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) I don't know about that Kay - but thanks anyway - by the time I'd got half way through - I would gladly have chucked it out the window!! lol

I've finally taken a photo of the blanket that I made for my six year old neice. Do hope she likes it! I'll be giving it to her in a couple of weeks when we go up to Hampshire for my sister's wedding.

Kay (Golden Girl) | 2193 comments The blanket is lovely Karen, love the colours.

message 1237: by Pat () (new)

Pat () | -245 comments Flo that is Stunning! Really beautiful. My word you are a very clever lady.

Karen, you too are a very clever lady. Your neice's blanket is beautiful and the colours are perfect. She will love it.

message 1238: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks everyone, I'm not sure about the pattern myself, I think it's a bit noisy - but I hope that Alyssa will like it. If I make it again I might try with a smaller hook and fewer colours.

I can't see your photo, Tb4sflo, so I've sent you a friend request.

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments Really lovely blanket Karen, no comment on the manly knits Lexie, ;0)
My husband needs a new wallet but I dont think he'd be too impressed with a Duct tape one.

message 1243: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Yes, I took a quick look at the manly knits and had a good laugh, particularly at the reviews! Duct tape for emergencies only, I think!

Lynne (Tigger's Mum) | 4643 comments If anyone is tempted by the Fanny cover says she with a straight face, do remember the stitches are different in American crochet. Our single is a double and our double is a treble etc, everything is bigger over there. I wouldn't like anyone to get a smaller one than they expected ;o)
