Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Horse barding - I feel I should get some. Good luck!

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Thanks! I love a challenge... Will post a pic when I eventually get it made

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Autumn's here - first session of our printmaking group today - and I did a lino cut for a Christmas card...

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Ooh, I was thinking of doing that for my Christmas cards this year! I must get my act together: think I need some new lino. Did it go well?

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I'm getting back into parchment crafting and will do some of my Christmas cards with Groovi plates and coloured parchment that I have. I'm hoping to be able to go to a couple of full day workshops before Christmas, and possibly a longer couple of days "retreat" some time next year.

I also have some Christmas Dies and Embossing folders so I have plenty of variety for the rest of my cards.

I am going to two craft weekends in November - I don't know what workshops we will be having at the first one (I'm expecting some sewing though) but the second is being organised by my crafty buddies and I think the one who lives close to where we are going is sorting out ones that we would like (and there will not be any sewing - although we will be doing some cross stitch in our own time one evening)

I might come back with more ideas for my cards.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments All sounds exciting Janet
I need to print the Lino cut again as ink wasn't quite dry when I was packing away so it's smudgy - typical!

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments This thread is a bit dusty, is anyone still crafting? I'm really getting in to making clothes this year, I've made at least one thing a week (I've missed a couple). There's a 52 week sewing challenge on FB that gives you a theme for each week in case you need inspiration for an item, I've followed that less than half the time.

I'm wearing a dress today that I made! I wish I had more time to make things.

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Wow! I'm still knitting, mostly (having had a break to make about 400 flowers and 21 birds for a ball). Bought some lovely wool in Orkney, also knitting two jerseys, a hat and a pair of gloves. Too hot to do it today, though!

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Am still wading through City & Guilds modules (patchwork & quilting). On Mod 7 now, 5 more to go, so prob another year and a half. Learnt lots though. Have made one wall hanging (there are 5 'things' to design & make, as well as all the samples) and now trying to finalise a design for a gingerbread house. Which if I start now, has a remote chance of actually being finished by Christmas!

Jay-me (Janet) | 3784 comments I’ve put photos of some of the things I made last week
There are more but a captcha thing came on and then wouldn’t connect. I will try again later. After Gym.

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Well, my City & Guilds wallhanging made it into a local art show, which was great. But the gingerbread house is still not under construction. Once my cough/cold has shifted, I'm hoping I'll feel a bit more energetic and creative!

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Janet, you have been busy - beautiful work, lots of different ideas.

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Wow, well done, Karen! I'm knitting poppies (when I should be knitting a cardigan) and planning painted decorations - waterproof - to lead people in to a Christmas fair. I'm not feeling very creative at the moment! But I have been trying tablet weaving and nailbinding, Viking crafts for a Viking series I'm writing. Nailbinding is harder than it looks. Sometimes I get it, sometimes I haven't a hope, and it's really hard to rip out!

message 2364: by Karen (new)

Karen Lowe | 1338 comments Nailbinding? sounds painful... You do like a challenge, don't you!

message 2365: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Up to a point! Nailbinding is only painful when you wind the wool too tightly around your thumb - but unfortunately that's sort of what you're supposed to do ...

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments I finished up the most amazing pair of rainbow dungarees yesterday, they are so bright and cheery and beautiful.

Just had a look at what nailbinding is on Google and it looks pretty complicated, well done for learning how to do it!

message 2367: by Lexie (new)

Lexie Conyngham | 1297 comments Well, as I say I can do it sometimes, and then I can't!

Love the sound of those dungarees!
