I would make a trailer if only ppl who promised to draw pics for me to use in such a trailer werent irresponsible sh*ts who couldnt keep their promise... and unfortunately I cant draw well... neither do I want to use just some pics downloaded from internet

and I dont just wanna go for a clipart/text effects thing

my "dream" was for an illustrator to draw some pics according to my descriptions, and THEN use that sequence + text effects... but I guess thats still a long way off for as long as ppl will have better things to do which is almost always when it comes to drawing for me, yay :/

Razmatus, I have a suggestion for you but if you only like some amateur drawings. I did my own drawings and if you like them I can suggest you my own way which you can easily apply by yourself. I've been there too. I had one really talented artist say they would help me create an animated trailer like you see for Halo and other video games. I waited a year and they finally said it was harder than they thought (read more time consuming).

Luckily my book is scifi and most observatories will let you use telescope pictures for free. I did purchase a few common use photos from online sites and then I tweaked them a bit in photoshop. It isn't too hard, but since I'm not great at it, it takes a long time. Finally, if you go to deviant art you might find an artist willing to let you use what they've already created.

Razmatus, as Charity said, you might find an artist on Deviantart to let you use what they have already done, but you might also find someone willing to work on commission as well. The key is being able to pay for it first. I have this great idea for a children's book, but can't find an artist who would do the work for a % of sales. How did authors ever get suckered into a deal that no other profession (not even artists) are willing to accept?! ;) Good thing I love what I do!! Best of luck with your project Razmatus!

the thing is I dont have a way to pay for the pics... I had a really talented one, but basically she didnt give a **** long-term

and I know she could spawn those pics pretty fast if she wanted and in high quality, cos she made the "test" ones and they looked great

so yea there's that problem... and then, even if they gave me their word, it got broken way too easily

and erm, I didnt say, simple drawings... the ones I had in mind required a good one like the dudette I mentioned... pics telling a bit of a story, like short overlook of the "storyline"... my book is a book of poems, and the concept is pretty loose, making a kind of confused storyline, the kind of "diary of a deranged mind", shattered, confused... but it is only the underlying layer behind the poems, not a really full-fleshed storyline like in novels... just something interesting tying the poems kinda together

and I wanted to make an epic trailer using good hand-drawn pics... so... well... it might take time but I hope I find someone eager and willing enough to draw at least a couple pics for me without a big promise of profit that I cant offer right now :/

I had a vision of an epic trailer for my most recent project, but I don't think it's going to happen. Maybe we should both do dramatic stickmen! That sounds like fun, actually, lol.
