Shera (goodreadscomShera) | 0 comments Has anyone noticed the really mysterious drawing at the top of the page? This looks like a problem for us to solve.

Can we discuss all of the questions it poses, like who is the man in the corner or where is the person who sat in the vacant chair?

HJ | 223 comments I was looking at the picture just the other day and wondering who put him in the corner, and how the women seem to be having an interesting discussion.

Shera (goodreadscomShera) | 0 comments Are they meeting at an Inn? Are Sandra and her husband the owners? And what is the alcove where Thomas sitting called?

HJ | 223 comments I like Mike's plot! Shera, I think Thomas is sitting on a settle in the fireplace - old fireplaces at places like inns were often enormous, with room for benches on the walls running at right-angles from the hearth.

Shera - I've since remembered that the alcove around the hearth, the fireplace, is called an inglenook!

I think it is an inn... which also doubles as the local pub or eatery.

Shera (goodreadscomShera) | 0 comments I think so to. I've tried to place the year. I think we can use Thomas' Boots, the older lady's cap, the long case clock (I've read all Lovejoys) and the machine made turned furniture to help us.

I hope this mystery game continues until we have a whole story
