Me encanta.

This is what I said in English:
Welcome Alejandra. I studied Spanish for many years but I have forgotten everything. I am also using google translator! It's wonderful to have you in the book club. We will do our best to communicate. How old are your children?

Oh que maravilloso. Dios los bendiga. Gracias.

My name is Patrick, and I love the Church and its Magisterium.
I love to read spiritual books and one of my favorites is “The Life of Christ” by Arbp. Fulton Sheen.
I have a wife and 3 kids under 3. I look forward to contributing more!
Welcome Peej! We are glad to have you.
I made Fulton's book my Lent reading this year, and I must say, I've not been as good about reading a chapter a day as I had planned. I am enjoying it, though.

Welcome Renee. Our book club is not limited to just Catholics. Please join us in our reads when you can. We have a cycle of four types of Catholic reads, and one of the four is a book of Catholic fiction. I think that's coming up after our next read.

I am Adelino and I love to read Catholic writers, or listen to them, specially those known as mystics, I love poetry, like Angelus Silesius; and I also love Saint Pius V mass.
Welcome Adelino!
We're currently finishing up one of the masterpieces Dark Night of the Soul. Feel free to join in. The discussion thread will remain open, even if we officially move on. We have also done poetry in the past and will do so again.

Welcome Adelino. As Kerstin said, we're just finishing up the very mystical Dark Night of the Soul.
Welcome Father Normand!
We read our share of papal writings, especially encyclicals, et. al. which we designate as short reads between our rotation of classics, regular, long reads (we break these up into segments) and catholic fiction. We've also read Pope Benedixt XVI's Jesus of Nazareth: The Infancy Narratives before, but that's been a while.

Welcome Father! We also read encyclicals too. We have just started Archbishop Chaput's new book, Things Worth Dying For: Thoughts on a Life Worth Living. Perhaps you can join us if if doesn't take you too long to acquire the book.

I found the group by reading booklady's review of Archbishop Chaput's book.
Glad to meet you all!

Welcome, Terry! You will love this book club. I just joined last month, and it has helped me read more with a critical, faithful mind, as well as remaining close to Jesus in the midst of his Church.

Welcome Terry. You sound perfect for our book club. That's exactly how I started here and eventually it became that Catholic books are about the only thing I read now. Right now we're reading Archbishop Chaput's brand new book, Things Worth Dying For: Thoughts on a Life Worth Living and we have a few more weeks to go. If you think you can catch up, it might be worth you trying. It's a fast read actually. If not, we'll be nominating and voting for our next read immediately after we finish it.
Happy Ascension Thursday!

Yes, I ordered the book today - hoping to profit from your previous discussions as I read. I'm excited!

Fantastic. You know, a number of us are behind. I'll ask everyone if they wouldn't mind giving us an extra week to help as a catchup. And that will give you a little more time.

Welcome Terry!
Don't worry about rushing to catch up, we tend to be a little more relaxed here :-) We tend to run a week or two past schedule most of the time. We also keep all of our discussion threads open, so no matter if you need a little extra time to finish or wish to immerse yourself in a book we've read in the past, you will have access.

Now, post-college (and post-newborn child), it's time to come back.

I am so glad I found this group because where I live is a more Baptist community and so it would be great to find more Catholic friends. And also find some gold books to help me deepen my faith!!!

Fantastic Addilyn, welcome. We are in the middle of our current read, Graham Greene's The Power and the Glory. You can find the discussion here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
We still have a couple of weeks left in the read. You may have already read it or you could even catch up if you start now. It's a pretty fast read.

Hi Patrick. Welcome. Look around our boards to see our previous reads. We are in the middle of St. Augustine's City of God but in three to four weeks we'll be voting on a new read. Actually we just had an interesting discussion on a work of Catholic art titled, "Winter Landscape with Church." Perhaps you can join in. You can find that discussion here starting at Comment #10:
