INTRODUCTION by Peggy Randall-Martin
At some point in each of our lives, most of us have experienced extrasensory fear – whether it was brought about by personal events, a movie on the widescreen, a television program or series, exchanging scary stories with our friends, or reading a tale told on the written page. And as you know, many of those experiences were capable of staying the test of time. Hitchcock’s “Psycho” forever took care of my taking a shower in a motel room – especially if the stall had a curtain.
The tried and true masters of fear are established in our minds, and we believe that time spent with their works will give us the chills and thrills we are looking for. However, the world continues to revolve and change, and the 21st Century has spawned new talent with fresh blood and tales with haunting twists and turns that assuage that need, that desire for a tingling in your spine, the feeling of some one or some thing creeping up behind you, or the need to have the lights on when you close your eyes at night.
Along with my co-authors of the Voices Anthology and our never before told paranormal stories, I believe we have created that atmosphere. Whether it is the middle of the day or a dark starry night, during calm weather or a turbulent storm, if you are in the mood to be afraid and aren’t wary of tales from beyond, your answer for fear is, Voices … written for you by Christine M. Butler, Peggy Randall-Martin and J. M. Tresaugue.
