The polls are closed and here are your reads of the month. As usual, I'm looking for volunteers to lead discussions for D.Gray-man. I'll be leading Y: The Last Man and American Gods. Discussion leaders get FREE e-copies of the first volume to Y: The Last Man! The thread for December recommendations is also posted and will close on November 23rd.

Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan

"When a plague of unknown origin instantly kills every mammal with a Y chromosome, unemployed and unmotivated slacker Yorick Brown suddenly discovers that he is the only male left in a world inhabited solely by women. Accompanied by his mischievous monkey and the mysterious Agent 355, Yorick embarks on a transcontinental journey to find his girlfriend and discover why he is the last man on Earth. But with a gang of feminist extremists and the leader of the Israel Defense Forces hunting him, Yorick's future, as well as that of the human race, may be short-lived." - IGN

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

"After three years in prison, Shadow has done his time. But as the days, then the hours, then the minutes, then the seconds until his release tick away, he can feel a storm building. Two days before he gets out, his wife Laura dies in a mysterious car crash, in apparently adulterous circumstances. Dazed, Shadow travels home, only to encounter the bizarre Mr. Wednesday claiming to be a refugee from a distant war, a former god and the king of America. Together they embark on a very strange journey across the States, along the way solving the murders which have occurred every winter in one small American town. But they are being pursued by someone with whom Shadow must make his peace... Disturbing, gripping and profoundly strange, Neil Gaiman's epic new novel sees him on the road to finding the soul of America."

D.Gray-man by Katsura Hoshino

"Set in a fictional end of the 19th century England, it's the story of Allen Walker, a 15-year-old boy who roams the Earth in search of Innocence. Washed away to unknown parts of the world after The Great Flood, Innocence is the mysterious substance used to create weapons that obliterate demons known as akuma. A born exorcist, Walker's primary anti-akuma weapon is the cross that's embossed on his red and disfigured left hand, which contains Innocence. But not only does Walker destroy akuma, he sees the akuma hiding inside a person's soul! Together with his fellow exorcists fighting under the command of the Black Order, Walker leads the battle against the Millennium Earl, the evil being out to destroy mankind."

Hey Cyndi. I just created the thread. Everyone's welcome to create and start discussions for our monthly reads. Don't worry about labeling it right. I can always go back and fix it =]

Kelly (xitomatl) Darn, I've read both American Gods and Y: The Last Man! I'll have to wait until next month for something new, but I can definitely offer thoughts :).
