Lori (moderatrixlori) I've made some last minute changes to my list because I just could not get into Cordelia's Honor. I cheated again and substituted a novelette that had a "military" theme to it. I just love me some hot man love between fighter pilots LOL. At least I'm getting something read in each category.

1. Read a book whose author's first or last name starts with "M" - Tech Support & Snagged by Jet Mykles .
2. Read a book which cover is predominantly color "green" or reminds you of spring - Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione

The Darkest Kiss
The Darkest Pleasure

Kasia Feh... Novelette or novella, substituted or originally there - it's still a book. No need to be this hard on yourself. Now pat yourself on the back (might get tricky) and smile, your all done - all 10!

tosca (catatonichataholic) | 742 comments Well...I have to admit that I haven't seen my friends all month, I can't remember what my family look like, I have bags under my eyes AND the lounge is upside down messy ;) Other than that it's not too bad LOL Oh, and I'm feeling way too lazy to read my number 7 - everytime I open the cover I screw up my face and close it.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) I'll eventually read all the books in the series I started. I had 6 out of 8 on my March challenge list (with book 1 on Feb's list)... but there is no way I'll finish by the end of the month with all of these, let alone what else is on my list. Losing reading time to cross stitching time and I had to finish stitching some things for exchanges.

Good that at least one of us has enough common sense to attend to things. Deadlines, deadlines.

Books will still be there next month - I tend to forget that.

As a single mum of 3 boys I tend to stay busy. I do have free time but I tend to get interrupted alot. My stitching was overdue for a few exchanges but I was having trouble getting into it.

Sometimes I get lost in the books and just devour them for a week or two at a time, picking one up after finishing one. (Usually a series) Other times its almost like wanting to savor the book that I enjoyed before starting a new one. I don't know how some of y'all do it, reading 20+ books in a month. For instance, my Jeremy Clarkson books are good, but they aren't the kind you pick up and read straight through. It's more like read a chapter or two before bed. (Non-fiction).

I love the challenges but I can never read enough to actually complete all of the ones I sign up for. lol

message 167: by Kasia (new)

Kasia 3 boys, huh - that must be a challenge at times!

The 20+ blows my mind too, but I guess if you have a lot of free time on your hands and all of those books are relatively easy reads and short too - could be done? I'd still need some breathing space though - reading one book right after another burns me out fast.

message 168: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (last edited Mar 28, 2009 08:33AM) (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Briansgirl,

That's why the number of books read for the monthly challenges is pretty open. Not all of us are power readers, and sometimes, there are just days/months were we read slow, and times when we read fast.

So defnitely nothing to be stressed about...that's why its fun to simply pick and choose a category..or go and do a different one in the Other Challenges section.

And even if we don't finish one...who really cares..LOL..at least we got to read something..LOL

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) I can't seem to get to all the books on the reading challenges I sign up for. However, its been fun filling them out and finding books for them. Most of the time I use books I already have since I have so many in the house I havn't read. But I've branched out and found books at the library too based on what people have said here. If nothing else, even if I don't get them all read now, it's getting me to read some stuff I may not have or try new authors. Since I find stuff so cheap, I have authors I've never read lying around the house that I need some motivation to pick up and try. So I'm getting there. And I tend to change my mind frequently and change what books I'm reading for a challenge. lol (Tonight I'm changing a book to read on my Read the month for March list so I can get an H done. Switched from an H title to an H author. It's one of my novels from a Reader's Digest Condensed book. I'd prefer to read full versions usually, but sometimes ya take what you can get.)

2. Read a book which cover is predominantly color "green" or reminds you of spring:
Jewel of Atlantis by Gena Showalter.

3. Read an anthology:
The only one by Christine Feehan, Susan Grant & Susan Squires.

4. Read a book whose author, setting or a character is from Texas:
My heart may be broken, but my hair sill looks great by Dixie Cash.

5. Read a book that is set in Scotland or has a Highlander as a character:

7. Read a book that you have previously started and meant to continue, but keep failing to do so:
The time traveler's wife by Audrey Niffenegger.
Too many people have told me to read it, so I haven't. So, I'm still struggling even to pick it up!
The struggle continued! At some point I might finish it - but the print was too small to contemplate at the moment! So I went with...
Dark lover by JR Ward. Tried once before, didn't get into it - but you guys convinced me to try again... and I've now caught up with y'all!

8 - 10 Read a trilogy or three books that are consecutive in a series:
Dark Crescent Sisterhood by Anna Windsor
Bound by shadow.
Bound by flame.
Bound by light.

Done!!!

Any book goes, and numerous edits to the list go as well.

Making lists - I go through the same emotions, it's such a satisfying and soothing process... Now I feel like a geek. Geek is good, I guess?

I just finished my read the month for March, as I substituted a different book for H. It's a Reader's Digest Condensed version of the book, but it's one I wanted to read and it's the only copy I could find of it. It's still 98 pages, even condensed.

Jane(Janelba) (janelba) | 769 comments I managed to finish all 10 books which was absolutely amazing to me. I have to say I really enjoyed all the books I read though. I have a week off work from the 11th April so I should hopefully succeed in reading a little. I am going to have no reading time next week as I am working 14 hour days plus 2 hours travelling daily LOL

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) I don't know how much time I'll have in April to read. I read 8 books in Jan, 12 in Feb and another 12 in March. Just that not all of them were on the challenge lists. lol

I missed my challenge by 100 pages of the 10th book, yet I still managed to read 21 books for March! I tend to be an 'impulse' reader, so if the books I want to read fit into the categories it's all good.
