It seems like an interesting book,hope you find it.In Interview With the Vampire there is poisoned blood but I dont belive its that from your description.
Do you know how long ago she read it?
There's 'The Darkangel' by Meredith Pierce, but it's set in a fantasy world, and they don't die.
It might be as old as from the 80's...Sigh. =/

I am looking for a book, low hope about finding it though, but maybe, maybe, you might be able to help a fellow book-lover out?
What I know about this book is that it ends with the heroine drinking poison (capable of killing the antagonist) before her and the vampires final battle, thus fooling him into killing himself. She dies as well, and the book ends with cutouts from newspapers saying how two bodies were found entangled and thought to be a loving couple.
I would really appreciate any help at all, trying to find the book as a gift to my girlfriend for christmas (she read it once a long time ago and doesn't remember any more about it).
