Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Hi,

I wonder how to edit existing books. I have the Librarian Status, but I can only edit the books I added myself. When I click 'edit details' on a book's page, I'm redirected to the book's metadata page, sometimes with a message saying 'Your permissions will only allow the editing of the metadata'.

What am I doing wrong?

You do not have librarian status - if you did under your profile picture on your profile page would be the words GR Librarian and I am not seeing that.

Did you apply ?

How long we wait to get the librarian status? I asked for it last night and can't wait to add all my books :) I thought that I am librarian now, beacause I can add new record to the database (i remember that it was not possible yesterday) - but I can't edit existing ones.

It usually takes several days. You will get an email to tell you IF you are accepted. You don't need to be a librarian to ADD books.

Thank you for your answer, because I have thought that I can't add books not being an librarian first. Now it is clear. You stated that the email will come IF I am accepted. Will there be any notifications IF NOT?
