Hello!! I recently just ended the book 'Perks of Being A Wallflower' and I just adored it. If you have read it, is there any books that are like it?!

Its about a boy (Charlie) who writes letters to a "friend". Its mostly like he is just writing in his journal. He tells about his problems, and about how his days go about. About his family members, friends and school..

Its by Stephen Chbosky

KrisT | 553 comments Have you read Extremely Loud and Incredibly close by Foer?? also a Prayer for Owen Meany by Irving?

Peanut | 149 comments I think I remember it...maybe not. I think that was one I listened to on CD.

Is it the journaling you like or the fact it was a teenager talking about his life.

How about Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (something like that). I enjoyed that book.

Have you tried About a Boy? Movie was based off the book. About a Boy by Nick Hornby

I have not read any of the ones that have been suggested to me. I think I will add the ones you all mentioned. Thank you!

The thing I liked about this book, was about how meaningful his writings were. and how in depth he went. not too many details, but just enough to get what he was trying to say.

here is an example, I found it in the quotes

"I think that if I ever have kids, and they are upset, I won't tell them that people are starving in China or anything like that because it wouldn't change the fact that they were upset. And even if somebody else has it much worse, that doesn't really change the fact that you have what you have."

Peanut | 149 comments I think I remember the book now - did he always start a new letter with "dear friend" or something like that? I rated it 4 stars so I obviously liked it at the time! :)

"Dear Friend" is the person he writes too. Which I kinda wish I knew who it was. but I think this "friend" might of been himself all along.
