Allison | 247 comments I have recently read Scanguards, Vampires in America, and New Series. I would like some recommendations similar to those. I have read BDB and Midnight Breed, and while I like them they are almost too dark or something...Dark Hunter might fall in this category too. I LOVE Psy-Changeling. I also like Argeneau and Love at Stake. Any thoughts?

Jordy (jordycrazyromanceaddict) I guess I was in the minority but I just couldn't get into the Scanguards series or Love at Stakes. Have you read the Elder Races series? I just finished the newest book to come out and loved it!! If not, I highly recommend Elder Races.

Ren Puspita (renpuspita) If you love Psy-Changeling, then try to read Guild Hunter. But its darker and also gorier. If you want PNR with humor try Pride series by Shelly Laurenston. Her other pen name G.A.Aiken write fantasy romance with humor too. Love vampire? Try Night Huntress by Jeaniene Frost,

Hope this help :)

Allison | 247 comments I actually just read the first Elder Races. It was very good. I read the first two Guild Hunters but didn't feel as compelled by them, although I do want to get to the books about other characters. I read the Dragon Kin books and those were really good. I'll try the Pride ones too. Night Huntress is very good.

☽ Rhiannon ✭ Mistwalker ☾ (pnr_list) | 133 comments For lighter paranormal reads, check out the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole or Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter. Two of my favorite series and both are more "fun" than BDB or Breed.

Jordy (jordycrazyromanceaddict) Have you read Lords of the Underworld yet? I liked them better than BDB for some reason. What about Immortal Guardians by Dianne Duvall. Those books kind of remind me of the Guild Hunters series. I just finished the Jane Yellowrock which was different but in a good way. Well good luck and happy reading!

Ren Puspita (renpuspita) Yes, try Pride series! Its so hilarious and funny. I agree with Lords of The Underworld and Immortal After Dark. I'm fans of Love at Stake too, but feel this series is go down hill :(. I recommend to read Darkest London by Kristen Callihan (with historical setting), also Demonica and Lords of Deliverance by Larissa Ione.

Jordy (jordycrazyromanceaddict) oh if you like sexy dragons, romance, humor....I would read Katie MacAlisters Aisling Grey, Silver Dragon, Light Dragon series. The Aisling Grey series gets good once the Demon dog appears. You should read each dragon series in order. my favorite was Silver Dragons books. It was full of action, steamy passion but also made me laugh so hard I cried.

Jordy (jordycrazyromanceaddict) Demonica & LOD may be considered more dark but I still really enjoyed them. I have read Darkest London and it was good. I thought only two books were out in the series so far. if not, I may need to look into the next book.

Jordy (jordycrazyromanceaddict) promise last recommendation... what about "Lost Angels" by Heather Killough Walden.

How about the Jane Jameson series? Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs is the first book in the series. It seems to be finished, but she said that once before and then thought of another story to add to the series. She has now spun off another series from the Jane series. Both series are very much "pnr" lite. And at least with the Jane series, it follows the same characters for all of the books. There's only 1.5 of the Half Moon Hollow books out, so not sure what that series is going to do yet.

Also, if you just want time travel, try The Last Viking series by Sandra Hill. I will also mention here--Sandra has TWO different Viking series out there, so you want to make sure that you get the CORRECT series (this one is called Viking II for some weird reason.) This follows the lives and loves of 3 brothers to start with--then adds in the kids of one of the brothers (he "only" has 11--so it takes a while) and then when one of his sons joins the SEALS, she starts adding those guys to the series. Its at some God-awful number of books now (well, it is when you are BUYING them) like 11 or 12 or so. The various characters DO make appearances in each others books, so you get to find out what's continuing to to on in their lives as the series progresses. (Character X and his h XX now have THREE CHILDREN, character Y and HIS h yy now have. . . you get the idea.)

Having now given you 2 new series, I'm going to second Katie MacAlister (ALL of her series) and G. A. Aikens/Shelly Laurenston's series (again, ALL of them.)

Plus, if you want a cute "alternate Earth" series, then MaryJanice Davidson has a series set in a world where Alaska was never part of the U.S. and is instead an independent kingdom. It follows the antics of the very ODD royal family. She also has the Fred the Mermaid series. (both series are finished.) And of course, there is the Queen Betsy books. But the last couple of those have gotten kind of dark--but the early ones are good.
