Hi,
I couldn't find what is the policy about different transcribtion of names?
For example: Himaruja Hidekaz (czech) vs. Himaruya Hidekaz (english) (For example an author of Hetalia)
I assume english transcribtion is default.

Pseudonyms and author "also known as" isn't exactly a feature yet at goodreads. (I realize just language used and not really pen names). On author's data, a note should be made about other names/spellings. If author name (any spelling) is shown on a bookcover, it's listed as primary author. For lots of questions, information actually displayed on the book cover image will be the answer.

This is what Librarian manual says: "Regarding author pseudonyms or pen names - some authors write or have written under multiple names. When editing or adding information for a book written by an author with multiple names, enter the author's name as on the front cover as the primary author. The author's other names may be added in the other author fields. Original name or other pen names can added and linked via a Librarian Note: in the description field, or using the Librarian Note feature located above the Title field. In some cases, a book may be originally published under a pen name, but then later reissued under the author's original name. When this happens, the author listed for any and all editions should be the author name the book was originally published under - so the reissued edition would need its author name changed to the originally published pen name. Doing this will allow the various editions to be combined. "

For the sake of combining all editions (any language) of a book, please make sure to add the main/most-common author name/spelling used at goodreads. Particularly in your example where the names are different by language versus actually being pen names for works that may never need to be combined. If not sure of main author name, can always ask for help in this group. I usually determine the mainly used author name by looking in order for:

- check if author has claimed only one spelling as their "goodreads author" profile; if so, list it as author in addition to primary author name listed on cover.
- if not a goodreads author, see if books usually published first in author's native language. If so, use that language spelling.
- otherwise, if you can't tell by "mostly used" spelling of author name on book or publication dates, I'd come right back to this group and ask for help.

Looks like in this case http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... spelling should get listed as author after author name shown on book cover (likely to be multi-language editions of manga volumes where editions will need to be combined). I'm not familiar with author, so I might have just found the same spelling of a name used by two different authors, but looks like right genre.
