Curry Isboss | 1 comments Can anyone recommend me any books like the name of the wind, a game of thrones, the neverwinter saga or even mistborn ?

A. Mussbacher | 4 comments I'm not sure if this is appropriate, but I've been told The Seven Stones reads like a George R. Martin novel. It's in the fantasy genre, with multiple plot lines and many different characters.

The only reason I ask if it's appropriate is because it is my novel, and I don't want to come across as ignorant spamming and self-promotion. I'm not lying though: style is similar to Robert Jordan and Martin.

Immortal Zero: The Seven Stones

Leonie (leonierogers) | 1222 comments If you've enjoyed Mistborn, have you tried Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings, Part One?

Or perhaps The Curse of the Mistwraith by Janny Wurts

Or perhaps look at Ian Irvine.

Hope this helps :)

Matt | 17 comments I recommend The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie

Carolyn (seeford) | 203 comments I also recommend The Wars of Light and Shadow series by Janny Wurts. In addition, I recommend the Kushiel series by Jacqueline Carey, the Deryni series by Katherine Kurtz, the Deverry series by Katharine Kerr, and the Realms of the Elderlings series by Robin Hobb.

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) One of my favorite series besides A Song of Ice and Fire (aka A Game of Thrones) is the Shadowmarch series by Tad Williams.

I second that.

Mark Attoni | 1 comments I second The Seven Stones. Never thought about it before, but it does read like a Martin novel.

Iced is also good, but I recommend you read Fever first.Immortal Zero: The Seven StonesIced

I third that

message 10: by Lee (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lee (kiwifirst) Fourth.

David Sven (gorro) | 65 comments Fifth.

Gavin | 10 comments Is Robin Hobb's Farseer stuff like what she wants?

Maggie K | 693 comments Curry- Seeing that the books you mentioned are a little 'grittier'...I would go with the ABercrombie, which is also considered gritty. Also the Malazan series....that starts with Gardens of the Moon
