Karen I found that this book took a while to get going, but once it did I thoroughly enjoyed it. It also didn't have as much LOL humour as "This Is Where I Leave You," but the humour it did have was more real. As were the characters (I found that some of the characters in "This ... Leave You" were quirky for their comedic value alone and not as authentic). And "One Last Thing" has much more of an emotional centre. So, big thumbs up from me.

Mitch White Karen, I may have to give this book some more time after reading your post. I got just to where he ended up in the hospital and really didn't feel involved at all. I really loved "This Is Where I Leave You" and "How To Talk To A Widower." But this didn't grab me. So you feel it is worth it then?

Karen Hi Mitch. I did find it slow to get going (should have mentioned that in my first comment), but it does really start to get good after the hospital scene. So yes, I do recommend you keep going for a bit more at least.

I haven't read "Widower" yet but it's on my list.

Trish I have read all of Tropper's books. I love the realness of his characters. Out of all his books, I think "One Last Thing" was the slowest to start. Definitely worth finishing though.

Michael I loved this book, it does not disappoint as far as humor and the story. I have read all of his book, besides one and he always never fails to make me laugh.

Jeff This wasn't the kind of book I typically would want to read but I heard good things and picked it up when it was offered as a Kindle Daily Deal. Loved it (perhaps because I am about the same age as the main character and I found it very relatable)! I can't wait to read some of Tropper's other books.

Noel I bought this one on the strength of This is Where I Leave You and was disappointed with it at first. I'm so glad I didn't set it aside because in the end, even with the slow start, it's a great book.

tan tee may does anybody understand the ending? can u explain it to me?
