L.M. David | 47 comments I have a question...has blogging actually gotten book sales?

message 31: by Karen (new)

Karen Sullivan (karensullivan) | 3 comments I am certainly interested. My first book is due to be published early spring. Contact me at [email protected]

message 32: by Robert (new)

Robert Colton (robertcolton) | 4 comments L.M. wrote: "I have a question...has blogging actually gotten book sales?" In a round about way, yes. By writing a blog post (related to the topic of my book) every two weeks, I have something to promote on Twitter and Facebook other than the book. If the topic can bring a fresh reader to my website then they find my book. However, I see the purpose of blogging as a way to "stay in touch" with people who've read my book and are waiting for the next one.

message 33: by L.M. (new)

L.M. David | 47 comments If blogging helps, which would be better? Linking your blog to others to draw interest to you or remaining solo, posting it wherever, and whenever you can? My blog is getting traffic but not much and I would like to either continue it and hope for the best or leave it along and try something else that yields a faster turnaround. Any suggestions?

I think of social media as fishing, you never know when or where you will get a bite! I suggest keeping up with your blog and getting it seen by as many eyes as you can. If you can connect with other blogs, do so.
Of course I say that, and I am not taking advantage of having my blog on this site. All I can say is, that by 'tweeting' that I've posted a new blog article, I have watched my website traffic numbers doulbe or triple within the next few hours. When people retweet or "star' me, I thank them and if I'm lucky we start chatting. This connection has resulted in many;"I just bought your book." relpies. It might seem like a lot of work to sell a book, but I'm happy to have personally introduced my protagonist to one more person who might enjoy him.
Good luck!

Hello L.M. - I'm not sure if I would be your normal interviewee, given that my first novel isn't yet published (tweaking and waiting on cover art) but I have several years of writing fan-fiction behind me (my practice) and (apparently) an unusual style... if you want to check out my website/blog before deciding, please do: http://www.elainejjackson.com/ - I'd be very happy to link you on my site if you'd like.

Maryan Pelland (mkpelland) | 5 comments Troy wrote: "I am looking for more guest interviews on my blog."

I'd certainly like to participate. I'm an author, yes, with two traditionally published books and four digitals, but I'm also a ghostwriter with 12 ghosted books and six developmentally edited books (fiction and non) in the past two years alone. If you'd consider revising your question to focus on ghosting, I believe we'd have something of interest to say to your audience. I'm at http://www.ontext/com and thanks for considering my idea.

I also would be interested in being interviewed. I've self-published a book based on my grandfather's World War One journal titled, "The Great Promise".

Hannah (normalgirl) | 398 comments L.M. I have a collections book out and two sample ebooks. I am working on my debute novel that will be published by the end of this year. Plus, I am writing a blog series about a real person dealing with addiction. Once I hit 5,000 views, anyomous will let me publish the story in print and hand over all the right. This person is just trying to help others going through the same thing and give families insight about what is going on in the mind of an addict. This is a very new blog.
