Lauren (love4leo) | 137 comments Just so everyone knows, this could be potentially offensive. I however think it's hilarious!

The other day mu husband's unit's work was canceled due to weather. He is not someone that can just sit and do nothing so he was cleaning up around in their barracks. He noticed a random ammo can under a table(they're rectangular and green) and thought that either someone stashed some sort of secret treasure or that it someone was too lazy to return it to ASD (Ammo Supply Department). So he picked it up and took a look inside and found someone's secret playboy stash. However, the oldest magazine in there was dated 1986 and the newest one was 1994. And of course he looked through it and he said he's never seen so many "afro bushes" in all his life and that it was practically a time machine of adult entertainment. He's wondering who took their vintage porn over there and left it...
I told him the next time he goes over, we should get a few magazines for him to put in there with a note that says something like "thought you should update your collection, bro"

This pretty much made my day when he told me!

Char | 17464 comments LOL That's pretty funny! Afro bush, eh?
My mind is running away with humorous puns and whatnot, but I think I will stop myself now before I offend someone or embarrass myself.

Rachel | 1434 comments haha that's pretty funny. Last night I was using my boyfriend's phone to play games because my phone died while I was watching Top Chef and I couldn't channel surf during commercials because we were also recording The Soup. Anna Farris and her husband were guesting on Top Chef last night and my bf goes, "Who's that guy?" We found out his name (I can't remember it now) and I was going to use the iMDb app on my bf's phone to look up the guy's filmography. As soon as I open iMDb, I get hit with notifications about new movies and the top one is clearly porn! I started to giggle and asked my boyfriend why he was getting porn notifications on his phone.

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments You don't have any Afro bush pictures, do you? Would work great in "exactly three words."

Careful what you wish for.
Don't wanna see Ken's shrubbery.....

message 7: by Ardy (new)

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments Yeah, and Ken usually updates the picture...

Did someone say shrubbery?

Yes, they did.

Nice picture of a red "X", by the way.....

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments what red x?

The one that was there before Ken fixed his picture.

message 12: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments Just playin'. I saw it.

“First you must find... another shrubbery! (dramatic chord) Then, when you have found the shrubbery, you must place it here, beside this shrubbery, only slightly higher so you get a two layer effect with a little path running down the middle. ("A path! A path!") Then, you must cut down the mightiest tree in the forrest... with... a herring!”

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments Classic movie and way too long since I have watched any Monty Pyton. Need to remedy that! Used to watch the MP tv series right after Benny Hill late night, when I was a kid hoping to catch a glimpse of a boob.

Love those shows!

Ever watch John Cleese in Fawlty Towers?

message 17: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments I don't think I have ever seen Fawlty Towers. I will have to see if I can track it down.

It's worth it.
Cleese is funny as Hell.

message 19: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments Agreed, Cleese is awesome!!

message 20: by Ardy (new)

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments Never sen Cleese in something I didn't like. Remember Time Bandits? And he was the funniest part in one of the funniest movies ever, Rat Race.

message 21: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments Time Bandits was great!

message 22: by Ken B (new)

Ken B | 6810 comments The only problem with Fawlty Towers is that there aren't enough of them! Only 12 episodes!

message 23: by Chris (new)

Chris (flahorrorwriter) | 2844 comments Meh...I really liked Blackadder...and Lauren, that was funny!

message 24: by Char (new)

Char | 17464 comments I loved Rat Race! Especially the prarie-dogging! LOL

I love Monty Python stuff too.

Mr. Bean rocks! And yes, he was awesome in Rat Race.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Fawlty Towers is great. Back in the early '90s PBS showed a few episodes every Saturday night. Since I was a hermit I would relish my Saturday night "dates."

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments I love where this thread is going, since it started out as a discussion of old porn!

message 30: by Ardy (new)

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments scared me for a minute there, Jon. Wasn't quite sure where the link would take me after my last comment!

Get your mind out of the gutter, Ardy....

message 32: by Ardy (new)

Ardy Ardy (ardybooks) | 1657 comments I just think it's funny that we took a thread about porn and turned it into a fun discussion about entertainment. Usually it's the other way around!

message 33: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments My favorite episode of Fawlty Towers is "Waldorf Salad." But I also love the episode where Basil tries to make the restaurant go upscale and tries to cater to the non-riff-raff crowd. He serves that prunish old lady shrimp mousse and it's raw. Or when Basil goes behind his wife's back and hires the drunk O'Malley to put a door in that wall. Or when Basil tried to catch that rakish playboy with a girl in his room and every move Basil made it looked like he was spying on the girl (remember the greasy handprints across the girl's bosom?).

message 34: by Michael (new)

Michael (mikedecshop) | 1479 comments I am proud to say I own the entire Fawlty Towers collection as well as all of the Monty Python collection. I can watch all of them over and over and never tire.

Ken B | 6810 comments Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, isn't it, eh? Beautiful plumage!

message 39: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I find a lot of the MP sketches from their TV show kind of dated and not as funny now as they were even back in the '80s when I first watched them. I'm wondering if I'd feel the same way about their movies.

message 40: by Ken B (new)

Ken B | 6810 comments I never noticed that with any MP. But, I have noticed it with sitcoms. Its funny how some hold up over time (All in the Family, Barney Miller, The Jeffersons, Seinfeld, MASH) while others for some reason or other just fall flat (Friends, for example).

I think the movies are still funny, Tressa. I have a couple on DVD that we re-watch periodically and we still laugh like crazy.

Ken, YES! All in the Family is just as hilarious now as it was back in the day. Maybe even more so, since everything is all politically correct now. Seinfeld is still funny as well.

Absolutely hilarious! And I'm not the least offended. I all too well remember getting a girl out of her pants in my younger days and being faced with the 'wookie in a headlock' bush. Now that's offensive!
