Volunteer Opportunity - Scorer for the January Mini-Challenge

If anyone would like to volunteer to be the scorer for the mini-challenge in January, please let me know below. I haven't scored a mini-challenge, but I think that this activity will take about 1-2 hours per week.

Scorer Responsibilities:
* Validate entries: this means that you are looking up every book that people read to validate the # of pages, historical fiction bonus and that the book meets the criteria for the points
* Tracking points: using an excel or google doc spreadsheet to tally points; please commit to publishing the totals at least once per week since this is only a 1 month challenge. I can give you a starting spreadsheet.
* Give feedback: If people have miscounted or there is something wrong with a post, you will need to inform them of the error.

Hey, are you putting up the year-long challenge in 2013 or is that just a typo? :)

We will have a year long challenge, yes... I think JoLene had some finishing touches that she was adding, if I recall right, and then she'll post the info. :)

@Margaret, no one else has volunteered so I'm hoping that you are still up for the score-keeping duties.

Do you need me to give you a spreadsheet? If so, do you prefer excel or google docs?

I really appreciate you volunteering to do this. For the mini-challenge, it's not too difficult but does take some time to validate things.

Evan (medieval_geek) Is the list for the TBR challenge going to be 30 books again this year? Starting to ponder which to include.

@carole, I am probably moving the TBR challenge to May and doing the scavenger hunt in April ( due to my own travel plans). We may do the 30 book TBR in teams in May.

Christina | 9 comments Have you posted the PhD requirements yet for the HFU challenge? I can't seem to find them, but in the first post it's said they were posted on March 15th.

Cheryl | 178 comments When will there be info about the August Challenge? Will it be similar to the challenge in May? (I am trying to plan my reading for next month.)

I am hoping to post something around July 15th.
It will be similar to the one in Feb/Mar which is a task-based challenge. (Also like Summer vacation --- but without an over-riding theme.

Hello Challengers or challengees ---
I'm a bit behind getting out the next challenge. We have been having internet issues.....and then GR was also having some issues. Hopefully by the end of the weekend.

Also, I am looking for volunteers to score the Aug Sept challenge. I will give you a spreadsheet and instructions. It does take on average 1 hour/week. You can still participate even if you are the scorer.

message 20: by Cheryl (new)

Cheryl | 178 comments I can spare an hour per week or so to help out on the task. I am not sure if I will be participating on the challenge...it depend on how well it fits in with what I have planned to read to finish my Masters and PhD. Let me know if I can help you, though.
