I'm glad that is was semi good. I haven't been able to read it yet. I'm still trying to get through the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. Which is GREAT but I haven't had time to read much these last two weeks or so.

I too hope that the Bared to You series gets better as it progresses. I had some expectations of this book that from your review just won't meet up. What books would you suggest that are similar to this series, yet not parallel?

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Brittany,
I liked it. I just didn't LOVE it. I have to say that I read The Siren earlier this year and I did LOVE that one. There was certainly not the same feel good romance but I was intrigued and surprised several times. Please be warned that the sex in The Siren is decidedly NOT vanilla and has a much harder edge than anything in Bared to You.

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Oh and BTW, there is no need to feel bad about reading a good book. The BTB series certainly qualifies as that.

Vi | 2794 comments Welcome, Christina! I'm so glad you enjoyed the book!

Christina wrote: "I finished Hell's Corner (Camel Club, #5) by David Baldacci today. It was a great book. There were a lot of twists and turns like he always had in his books.

Thanks Vi for the push to read this one."

Great that you liked the books :) Dark Citadel was actually one of my favorite books from that series, so I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it that much. I haven't read Maya Banks' book but I hope I can one time in the future.

Suzanne, I'm sorry I haven't managed to read anything yet, this is a busy month for me with so many holidays and now my exams :/ I can't remember a month when I read so little books as I did this January. I plan to read at least Obsidian by next Thursday though

Yes, BDB is a good series. I just wish I had some more down time to read, hopefully in these next few days I will. I will have to read The Siren. I like variety so that won't be a problem ;)

message 507: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished Lover Avenged and oh, my goodness it was amazing. I gave it 5 stars. Rehv's story is my favorite other than Zsadist's of the BDB. I wasn't really into this series until now. So much going on. I am going to try to read Pride Mates and Under Wraps to finish off this month for this challenge.

message 508: by Juliet (new)

Juliet (yiinochi) I've just finished Virgin River (Virgin River, #1) by Robyn Carr and I like it a lot. A 5 star book for me. I am definitely going to check out the other books in this series.

I finished Wallbanger a few days ago, and just loved it. It was predictable but lots of fun.
Thanks for the rec.

message 512: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I am reading Under Wraps, my 5th pick. It is pretty silly. Need to finish it and then Pride Mates to wrap up the month.

Gigi, I'm not sure I will able to to that right now. I am really interested in what you think though! I am finally able to focus on reading in short bursts and I think I need to work on a couple of challenge books since I am not reading very quickly.

Ok, Mountainkat! I hope everything is ok. I'll let you know what I think.

message 519: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments Finished my 5th pick, Under Wraps. I wasn't really into it. Kind of paranomral lite. Anyway, three stars. Going to read Pride Mates and then I will be finished for January.

MountainKat | 31602 comments Gigi wrote: "Ok, Mountainkat! I hope everything is ok. I'll let you know what I think."

Everything is better than I expected it to be at this point - I'm actually able to read! I had back surgery on the 17th, wasn't approved until the 7th so this month has been a little crazy for us. (Understatement of the year - so far!) When we did picks at the end of December, I hoped that maybe it would happen by the end of the month, but was so frustrated with my insurance company I wasn't convinced they were ever going to approve the surgery! I'm on the road to recovery now and doing better than when I had knee surgery a year and a half ago. It took me over a month to finish just one book then, that was frustrating! The big issue now is I am not allowed to sit or really even stand until the end of February. All I can do is walk and be lie in bed. Talk about a challenge to your mental health?!

message 521: by Nikki (new)

Nikki (nikkit23) | 121 comments ~Melissa~, I had planned to read more than one of your picks but I just wasn't able to get to them! :( Thank you though for choosing some great books and I'll be adding them to my TBR if they weren't already on it! :D:D:D

message 525: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) | 545 comments Suzanne, I read Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and it was great! I doubt I'll manage to read any other of your picks this month, but thanks for picking them anyway :)

Amy | 68 comments Jane,
I did get a chance to read a few of your picks.
The Gamble, I loved it so much read the entire series!
Perfect Chemistry, I finished it but I had a hard time to getting into story/characters. I probably will not continue with the series.
Up to Me, I enjoyed it looking forward to the third.
The Art of Racing in the Rain, loved it!
Today I am starting And One Last Thing

Amy

message 527: by Raine (new)

Raine | 177 comments Jensine, I have almost finished my first pick Romeo, Romeo (Domestic Gods, #1) by Robin Kaye . It is going a bit slow for me. I was hoping to read Mind Games (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #1) by Carolyn Crane but my order was delivered to late and I have to start a three year course for my work this week, so my reading time will be limited in the next couple of years unfortunately. But I'm really looking forward to reading this, so I will put it on top of my Mount to be Read. Thank you for picking this book.

message 528: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Oh we could do both if it works for you :P Just let me know which you would like to go first. I'm good any day.

I think I can only fit one more in this month. I am starting One True Thing tomorrow with MK and KarenH. How about a Wed start for either one of them? You pick - Slammed or Darkhouse. We can always read the other together another month :)

message 530: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 449 comments I just finished reading Seduction and Snacks and I had a really hard time getting into the book. I just didnt really find the main character to be very funny.
Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec

message 531: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ | 2097 comments Thanks again Kami for the picks.
I was able to read Iron Kissed (Mercedes Thompson, #3) by Patricia Briggs 4♥
Second Grave on the Left (Charley Davidson, #2) by Darynda Jones 3♥ ~ told by a few that the next two in the series are better than this one so looking forward to them. That said Darynda Jones (for me) is the queen of the one liners. She never fails to crack me up☺
The Mane Event (Pride, #1) by Shelly Laurenston 4♥

I'm still trying to get through A Dance With Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5) by George R.R. Martin but these long ones are always slow going for me.

message 532: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Oh sure, Fran! Hmm, let me think over and get back to you soon?

No problem, I'm way behind on my reading :( Do you have the book now? Maybe we could do a chapter a week or something? Let me know what works for you if you'd still like to do it as a buddy read.

Good luck with school!!!

I'm so pleased that they mostly worked for you.

I have to admit that I listened to Perfect Chemisty - the narration was terrific which certainly helped me follow everything etc...

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments so I scrapped in under the wire getting my book read - for some reason, I just couldn't concentrate on anything this month...but I finished up Atlantis Rising while I was getting a pedicure yesterday - it has been on my virtual read pile for a while - I am intrigued enough to want to continue the series, but there were some gaps in the story
