Janet thanks for the suggestions - I have been wanting to read the Virgin river books for a long time. I love the sound of Treading Water, will have to see about getting that as my library doesn't have it. But I have requested - Rainshadow road, Good Girls don't and One Recless Summer. Will let you know what I think.
Happy New year!

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Susan (Susayq): Had so much fun going through your ginormous TBR pile! Hope I have found some good books to read this month.

Recommend a book that you loved most reading in 2012
The Iron Duke and Dragon Bound
You don't read a lot of Steam punk and this is such an original and amazing book, in my opinion. I loved it. I'm also recommending another that I loved as well and it is the start to a great series.
The Iron Duke (Iron Seas, #1) by Meljean Brook Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison

Recommend a book by an author you are looking forward to reading in 2013 The Duke's Perfect Wife and The Chief
I have two for you -Jennifer Ashley and Monica McCarty are two of my favorite authors and they both have new books I will be eagerly awaiting. Here are two from them.
The Duke's Perfect Wife (Highland Pleasures, #4) by Jennifer Ashley The Chief (Highland Guard, #1) by Monica McCarty

Recommend a light, happy book to start off their New YearIt Had to Be You and Instant Attraction
I love Jill Shalvis and SEP is a new author to me that I've recently discovered. Both of these are on your Sooner Rather than Later shelf and are light and fluffy and fun.
Instant Attraction (Wilder, #1) by Jill Shalvis It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Recommend a new-to-them series that you have read and enjoyed
On the Edge or Magic Bites
I love this author and I love both of these series. Magic Bites is more UF and to get to the really good stuff you have to keep reading. On the Edge is more PNR. You can't go wrong with either.

Recommend a book off their TBR that they should have read but haven't
Blue-Eyed Devil or Rainshadow Road

Amy J Thanks for the recs! I think I'll go with Changeless for sure. I may search out Bet Me if I have time. I would have liked to have read Room as well, as I've heard good things about it, but I can't even begin to touch that subject without sobbing my eyes out. Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments Katie!
Sorry it's taken so long to do your picks, I still am trying to get settled after getting back from vacation. But it was nice to take some time out to look at your shelves. Your TBR is vast and eclectic (kinda like mine) and we have quite a few authors in common. I'm hoping you like your picks, but if you don't please feel free to PM me!

ok, so here we go...

1. Recommend a book that you loved most reading in 2012. It should be one of your favorites of the year.
This has been a good reading year for me and I've read quite a few books that I have loved. I'm going to give you a few and hopefully there's one you'd like to try.

m/f-- On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street, #1) by Samantha Young amazing a bit dysfunctional but amazing nonetheless.
Defying the Odds (Battered Hearts, #1) by Kele Moon --Kele Moon is such a great writer, I just love her books

m/m-- Above the Dungeon (Dungeon #1) by SM Johnson --awesome gay for you story but it does have a BDSM theme
The Scientist and the Supermodel (Genetic Attraction, #1) by Tara Lain

2. Recommend a book by an author you are looking forward to read in 2013.

I absolutely love Sophie Oak and I saw the first book in the Nights In Bliss, Colorado series on your TBR. I've read every book in the series and am looking forward to it continuing in 2013 so recommend Three to Ride (Nights in Bliss, Colorado, #1) by Sophie Oak

3. Recommend a light, happy book to start off their New Year. Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor (Friday Harbor, #1) by Lisa Kleypas

4. Recommend a new-to-them series that you have read and enjoyed.
Backstage Pass (Sinners on Tour #1) by Olivia Cunning --great series!

5. Recommend a book off their TBR that they should have read but haven't (ex: Most-hyped book) Kate's Crew (Powertools, #1) by Jayne Rylon --been on the TBR for 2 years and it's a hot little quickie

6. New Year's Eve Fireworks - Recommend a book with fire or fireworks on the cover or a HOT new release that they are looking forward to. Brotherhood of Fire (Hearts on Fire #1) by Elizabeth Moore --sooooo good!!

It's a BRAND New Year!

And you don't know what's ahead of you. Pick two random books - one from your AND one from your pickee's TBR using random.org to generate the book number. (In the website, the maximum number would be the number of books in the shelf)

#491 on your TBR is Bus Stop by Pepper Espinoza
#275 on my 2012 shelf is Bared to You (Crossfire, #1) by Sylvia Day

I hope that you find something that you'd like to read. If you need any changes, please feel free to let me know. Happy Picking!

and, My First, My Last fits into another challenge so we'll try that as well.

I'll start there and see where things go. But there are also some other books that I'm really interested in like Easy

Definitely reading the KA book, but I'll probably read the first in the series first because I am OCD when it comes to that. My New Year's present to myself was to read a book this morning, and I picked He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan. It was a great read, just the right tone of a positive attitude (when the main character was determined to lose 100 pounds in a year) and good romance (hunky fitness trainers) to start the new year out right. Thanks for the recommendation. I haven't decided which one I will pick up next, but I am looking forward to reading several of your suggestions.
