Mary, the states are slowing me down too, it's hard trying to plan it around what we already have, and finding it for the correct stae, LOL.

I had that problem too bamaace, someone that I could read for a hard to find state, I had already read for group 2, so I had to rearrange.

I just updated post 102. I finally finished level 3! I know I won't get done with the 50 states probably but I'm going to see what kind of dent I can make.

Congrats! We are on the same track. Now we just have to figure out these states. I'm gonna sit down with amazon this weekend and see what I can pick up free.

Yup, but don't be like me... I got so excited that I completely forgot to check the author's list...I started planning out my states with just the setting and not paying attention to the author's list and what I have already used before. Thankfully, I caught myself in time. I know I started a list in the beginning of the year for the states, I need to find that and print out all the author's and cross off what I have and find authors I can use for settings.

Updated Post #29. Still working on those States. Congratulations to Bamaace and Hina! The states are hard to plan for. It's frustrating how many author's Bios don't include the state that they live in, just a general area, i.e., Pacific NW. I started by cross-checking my Kindle and bookshelf authors with the author list. Then finding the state the author lives in. That worked for me. Trying to find the setting for books is difficult. Good luck with your planning sessions!

Congrats you two! Y'all are well on your way to finishing. I'm totally stalking y'all's posts for states. It might be a mad dash but I might be able to get it done. It's like 13 books a month.

Lynne, that drove me crazy too! I can understand why they wouldn't give a city, or an area, but it sure would be nice to get a state name, even if it was the one they were born in.

Bamaace, feel free to stalk my list, I have it pretty much planned out, with just a few that may change. LOL

Yeah sometimes the states require some investigation. I will only get them done if I check a few books out from the library. Trying to hold off on that until I see how close I get with what I own first. Fortunately, I happened to have a lot of these authors in my TBR already and that's made it much easier.

I need to average 7 a month to get my last 28 states in by the end of the challenge.

I am working on message 4, with what I am finding where the author is from...if you have any you want me to add to the list...let me know, that way it will be easier for people coming up on level 4.

I don't know if we are doing it next year....its up to the Mods to decide..I will ask.

We are nearing the end of October....only 2 more months to go to the end of the challenge. How's everyone's reading going for this challenge?

I got sidetracked by other challenges....I am just starting read for this again. :)

I'm still struggling throguh the fifty states but I didn't start the challenge until March so I'm pretty proud of myself. I hope to make it through at least 20 states before December. This was a fun challenge.

I haven't done well on it lately. I've only got 27 of the states done. I won't finish unless I read nothing but books for this.

Like the other ladies, I'm struggling through the states. I have 14 read, I know I'm not going to complete this, but thank you so much for doing this. I have discovered so many new to me authors that I really enjoy! This has been really fun!

You've all done a great job with this challenge!!

There is a new Convention challenge coming in 2014....stay tuned....

It will be a totally different Convention, and a new author list :)

There may be some repeat authors from this challenge, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of new ones.

There won't be a states component to the next one. A few levels, a bit more flexible :)

Yay for next years convention challenge. This one was fun although I am still stuck on level#3. :)

I'm excited for the next one. I found a few authors I really enjoyed this time. I hate I won't get done but I'm proud for all that I have finished and what I still have left. I'm going to aim for a few more states. :)
