What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Ran into this fantasy a while ago, it was in my recommended pages, but just can't remember the title. Only thing I remember is it's about a young man who works as an apprentice chef (maybe dessert maker) in a castle. He rises to great heights and then something happens I guess :D

Could it be The Baker's Boy? I really liked that series.

How about The Stars Dispose by Michaela Roessner? A boy who is an apprentice chef in the Medici family. It included medieval recipes.

I don't suppose it's The Dragonbone Chair? Simon is a kitchen-boy, and he does become an apprentice, but not to a chef.
