4. Australia - When You Wish Upon a Rat by Maureen MCarthy (1/7/13)
5. Brunei - Don't Tell Mom I Work on the Rigs: She Thinks I'm a Piano Player in a Whorehouse by Paul Carter (1/8/13)

6. Canada - Before We Go (1/11/13) - Excellent YA story about a girl whose grandmother is dying and two other teens with deep secrets who try to help her

7. Czech Republic - Shadow of Night (1/23/13) - This is the sequel to A Discovery of Witches, and a good part of this book is set in Prague, so I am counting it for the Czech Republic.
8. Mexico - Victorio's War (1/25/13) This is book 3 in the Desert Legends trilogy, and takes place in the Southwest and northern Mexico.
9. Cuba - Cuba Diaries (1/18/13) - A memoir written by an American woman who is a housewife in Cuba in the early 21st century.

10. Russia - The Gathering Storm (1/29/13) This is an intriguing story of pre-revolution Russia, in which the aristocracy also happens to be vampires, witches, and persons with paranormal abilities.

11. Papua New Guinea - Wanderlust (2/2/13) In her intriguing travel memoir, Elizabeth Eaves crosses the globe many times and visits/lives in many different countries. I am counting this for Papua New Guinea, where she had an interesting adventure getting lost in the jungle and experiencing many new and dangerous things.

12. Qatar - If the Sun Doesn't Kill You, the Washing Machine Will (2/7/2013)
13. Colombia Nighthawk (2/17/2013) - This book is the story of a hawk who migrates from Canada to South America and back, but since several chapters take place in Colombia, that is where I am going to count it.

15. Scotland - On Dublin Street (3/19/2013) - A very hot, sexy read set in Edinburgh, Scotland

16. India - Dark Road to Darjeeling - (4/3/13) - excellent mystery in the Lady Julia Grey series
17. Greece - Passport Diaries (4/10/13) - Story of travel, romance, and finding oneself

18. Iraq - Somebody, Please Tell Me Who I Am (4/19/13) - an amazing book about an American soldier who gets injured in Iraq

19. Macau - The Color of Tea (4/22/13) I loved this book and the setting was all new to me, so it was doubly interesting.

20. Tanzania - Crazy River (5/7/13) What an amazing book! Before I read this book, I knew nothing about the geography, culture, and people of Tanzania and Burundi, and only a smidgeon about Rwanda. Grant's journey through these countries is truly eye-opening, and his contrast of the politics and culture of Burundi and Rwanda paint a more accurate picture of the differences between the two countries than many other sources. His attempts to navigate the Malagasi River and his later interview with the president of Rwanda are truly enlightening. However, I also learned that I probably don't want to travel to any of these countries any time soon, despite my love of travel!

21. Austria - Mozart's Last Aria (6/11/13)
- Excellent historical fiction!

22. Indonesia - The Lunatic Express - An interesting story of one man's trip around the world using native means of transportation instead of tourist ones. Quite interesting!

23. Mauritius - 360 Degrees Longitude - I loved this book, which covered many countries. I am counting if for Mauritius because I also love fireworks, and the family had a great fireworks adventure there. There were many, many other great places in this book. If you like travel, I recommend you read this account of one family's journey around the world. Awesome!

24. Puerto Rico - If I Bring You Roses (7/20/13) - A very good multicultural romance

25. Argentina - The Good Girl's Guide to Getting Lost (7/24/13) - The main character went to several countries using travel as a means to finding our about herself. I am using Argentina since a lot happened to her in that country.

26. Italy - The Body in the Piazza (8/4/13) A good mystery with lots of discussion about Italian food and cultre

27. Antarctica - What the Ice Gets: Shackleton's Antarctica Expedition, 1914-1916 (8/4/13) - An amazing story of this historic and harrowing journey

28. Switzerland - Season of Snows and Sins (8/7/13) This is an older mystery by Patricia Moyes but very good.

29. Norway - Redeemer by Jo Nesbo (8/27/13) This was my first Harry Hole novel, but it will not be my last. It was quite good.
30. Morocco - A House in Fez (8/28/13) An intriguing read

31. Finland - The Summer Book - Tove Jansson - a very good read!

32. Ireland - In Dublin's Fair City by Rhys Bowen (10/17/13)
33. China - Red Mandarin Dress by Qui Xiaolong (11/20/13)
34. New Zealand - Just This Once by Rosalind James - a sweet romance with a rugby player (11/26/13)

35. St. John - Adrift on St. John (11/28/13) - Great mystery set in an exotic locale

36. Wales - Yuletide in Ireland and Wales - (12/23/13) - Two sweet Christmas short stories, one set in each country
