How do you add a book that is not currently in the database, or add another addition of a book that is in the database?

If you search for a book/author the results page has a link to manually add a book, which is this page/direct URL:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/new

You add either a new book or new edition of a book using this page. If it's a new edition (not already in the GR database) after you've added it, you can combine it with other editions of that same book.
