Diane #37 - gave 2 pts for page bonus, not 1. Also this is not HF, as the book was originally published in 2002 and takes place in 1956, so there isn't that 50 years needed to make it HF
Lori #46 - not sure what you are claiming when it says '1 pt- title only"
Linda #39 - did not award the reviews pts because the linke did not go to the review. Correct the link, let me know and I will award the pts.
Jayme #52 - review needs to be linked. Let me know when you do that and I will award the pts.
Rebecca #60 - sorry but looks like you started this book before January 1st.
Diane #71 - book was originally published 4/24/2012 therefore task pts not awarded
Christy #76 - Catching Fire only has 3 books in the series, task stated more than 3 books in series for the pts.
HollyP #67 - could you also post your review on Goodreads too

JenC. wrote: "I'm guessing by the correction for Diane's points that even if the book's main page lists HF, if it is not HF by the 50yr definition we can't claim a point? Just checking since I'm reading a book ..."
EDIT: we will use the genre listing of historical for the mini-challenges, but for most of challenges (including HFU), we use the 50 year rule.
JenC, we have always used the 50 year definition in the group and I believe that is the scholarly definition. The intention in the definition is that the author had to do some type of scholarly historical research on setting to write the book. I have also seen some use 60 years as the cut-off, but 50 years is easier to remember.
The genres that are listed are based on the bookshelves people have used when logging the book. Some people put any book that is in the "past" as historical fiction, where past for some is 50 years, for others it is before they are born, etc. Some also list classics as historical fiction, even though the books had a contemporary setting when they were published (example, Pride and Prejudice). NOTE: Pride, Prejudice and Zombies would meet our criteria :-D

In regard to post #46, I was claiming the "title only" point for The Royal Perfects because the cover has only the title on the cover(no pic)--neglected to include a cover link.

Are my points ok for post #77?
Just want to figure out my challenge total up to that point. I had a total of 60 pts calculated. You only mentioned the 1 pt-title only that was in question but you have my total at 58 on post #82.
Thanks so much!
Lori

I'm pasting the question and Becky's response on what counts as historical fiction for this challenge. According to the rules, Diane should be awarded a point for HF if that genre is listed on the GR page for the book.
Message 21:
Sue wrote: [...]but for this particular challenge we can claim the point for Genre: Historical Fiction as long as Historical fiction is listed as a genre on the Goodreads page for the book, is that correct?"
Yes.
@Nell, thanks for reminding me --- we do use the genres for the other categories so we will do this to maintain consistency for the mini-challenge.
Margaret, you can give the point back to Diane (sorry -i answered too quickly yesterday) and JenC, your book will count.

I completely agree, and thank you for the points clarification. I'm reading Angels & Demons and am 99% sure it's not HF, but it is listed as a genre on the book's main page.
