Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments The release of new christian non-fiction books is a never ending stream. It seems a lot of people are receiving ideas to write a book, which is awesome of course. Only time will tell which books will become classics.

Do you have a CLASSIC christian non-fiction book that has really helped you to grow in your faith?

Cathy (Thoughts on Books) I just finished reading 'if: What do I know of Calvary Love?' by Amy Carmichael. I would definitely consider this a classic and recommend it to everyone. It's a book I will be pondering for a long time. I wrote about it on my blog here:

Marja Verschoor-Meijers (marja_meijers) | 495 comments Thanks for sharing Cathy... I do not know this book, so you made me curious.
I am wondering now WHEN a book is considered a classic. Thoughts on that, anyone?

Cathy (Thoughts on Books) I think a classic stands the test of time. No matter when it was written it impacts the reader. It also speaks to a universal audience. Hope that helps! :)

Rod Jetton (rodjetton) | 3 comments Yes I have several that are wonderful. EM Bounds- Complete Works on Prayer, Andrew Murray's- 31 days With Christ in the School of Prayer, Thomas Case -When Christians Suffer are three of my favorites. I try to read each them at least once a year.

James Duren (jrduren) | 7 comments A Severe Mercy. My ultimate Christian nonfiction selection...that, and From Jerusalem to Irian Jaya. Epic.

Jane Rozek (goodreadscomjane_catherine_rozek) | 10 comments A new release that speaks to a universal audience is
The Celestial Proposal: Our Invitation to Join the God Kind. It's a huge paradigm shift in making theology relevant to our twenty-first century.

Jennifer | 2 comments I love A.W.Tozer's "The Pursuit of God." I love how he speaks of the fact that it is only God who can do the redeeming work in our lives. It is nothing that we can conjure up.
