Ralph (rlparker) I want to friend everyone in the group and started doing so. After friending several of you, I got this message

Sorry, you have reached our daily limit for the number of friend requests. Please try again later.

Daily limit? On friends?? What's up with that? :-(

I guess I have to adapt to "the goodreads way".

Jessica Hrmm, I never noticed that. I guess I'm not too friendly :)

Rwood | 16 comments Makes you woonder if there is also a limit on the number of friendship requests you can respond to|accept in a day. We must practice safe friendship after all.

BookishDreamer | 6 comments When I originally signed up, I got friend requests from strangers. The thing that caught my eye was that these people had more friends than books. That was a turnoff, especially the guy whose list of friends was almost exclusively women and he only had one a handful of books listed although he'd been a member for quite a while.

Jessica Yeah that's creepy. I don't know where these people come from.

Fledchen | 4 comments My guess would be that it's to prevent spam. They have the same sort of thing on other social networking sites.

Liz (busy91) I also think it is a spam deterrent. In the beginning I got a lot of friend requests too, but I soon realized it was mainly from 2 sources. People from
groups I belonged to and Goodread authors trying to drum up readers.
