Christal | 374 comments Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs was so good! I can't wait for Frost Burned (Mercedes Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs next month.

I just started Dance of Shadows (Dance of Shadows, #1) by Yelena Black and so far it's okay, but the reviews have me prepared for disappointment.

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm anxious for more Mercy too, Christal. And, Fifth Grave later this year.

I've just started Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush and hope to start listening to book 2 Hexed (The Iron Druid Chronicles, #2) by Kevin Hearne soon.

(EDIT) Just noticed what a pretty yellow that cover is, so I may hold off starting Hexed until our FL draw in case it's a mellow yellow spot. ;)

I can't wait for Frost Burned (Mercedes Thompson, #7) by Patricia Briggs . I've been going through Mercy withdrawal. :)

message 306: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) Phoebe Pope and the Year of Four (Shapers, #1) by Nya Jade

The blurb definitely grabbed my attention, so I hope it's good!

message 307: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Interesting, Angie. Hope you like it.

I'm reading Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush . The story hooked me right off the bat and now I'm bummed b/c I don't have time to sit & finish it.

message 308: by Christal (new)

Christal | 374 comments I'm interested to see what you think of Altered (Altered, #1) by Jennifer Rush , Steph. I have that one on my TBR too.

I finally read Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1) by Katie McGarry and really enjoyed. Sweet YA romance.

message 309: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I really enjoyed it, Christal. Good thriller/mystery, bit'o romance, hooked me from the start. Stinks that I have to wait a year for #2. I would've enjoyed reading it right away.

message 310: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments I added it to the towering tbr pile. Sounds good ;)

message 311: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments :) Yay! I know YA isn't your first choice, but I think you'll enjoy it too.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 400 comments Reading Boundless (Unearthly, #3) by Cynthia Hand Already on chapter 4.

(So glad Aussie's cover is orange so I can use it for FL: Boundless (Unearthly, #3) by Cynthia Hand )

Sandra | 25908 comments I'm reading Fever (Phoenix Rising, #1) by Joan Swan for FL as well ;)

message 315: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on that one; it's patiently waiting TBR. ;)

I'm reading Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi for FL. So far it's ok, but not as WOW as book 1. At least not yet (about 1/4 way through it).

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 400 comments Steph wrote: "I'm anxious to hear your thoughts on that one; it's patiently waiting TBR. ;)

I'm almost gave book 1 3 stars, but when I got towards the end and Adam and Juliette ends up in that place, it got good with that twist the author put in the end which bumped up my rating to 4 stars. I can't wait to read book two, Unravel Me once my library has is available to checkout.

message 317: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Same here, Amy. It was a nice twist. I'm liking this one okay so far, but might'a had my hopes too high or something. Maybe it was just b/c of the long wait between books 1-2.

message 318: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) Phoebe Pope and the Year of Four (Shapers, #1) by Nya Jade was pretty good.

Now I'm about halfway through Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver and loving it!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments I got some freebies shorts out of the way A Month with Werewolves by K Matthew Alien Mate (Alien Mate, #1) by Eve Langlais Origins The Fire (MILA 2.0, #0.5) by Debra Driza Huntress (Alexa O'Brien, Huntress, #0.5) by Trina M. message 320: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Yay! Go Val!

message 321: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments How are you liking Alexa, Val? I really enjoyed those two prequels and was so happy to have book 1 on-hand to jump into immediately after. But, in book 1, she started to bug me a bit. I will be continuing the series, but had to take a break before moving onto book 2.

How was Mila?

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments I'm conflicted about Alexia, the prequels had mature characters and limp rags in book one. The shift is too much to dive into book 2 before a cooling period.

I only read the 15 pages prequel for Mila ( not a fan of getting the first chapter of a book when I don't have the rest). The premise is interesting.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 400 comments Finished: Boundless (Unearthly, #3) by Cynthia Hand (So sad this is the final book in this trilogy series, but I thought the author did a nice job in wrapping things up)

Now, I'll read Radiant (Unearthly, #2.5) by Cynthia Hand (Which I should've read before I dived right into Boundless!)

message 324: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments Still listening to Touch the Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1) by Karen Chance

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Finished The Blinding Knife (Lightbringer, #2) by Brent Weeks and wishing for more.

message 326: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I agree, Val. It was a shift in the wrong direction - definitely tamped down my enthusiasm. Hoping for more prequel-like writing in book 2.

I think my husband will like that one, Val. I'll have to remind him that we have book 1 TBR.

Amy, I've also realized I have a short I maybe should've read first. I've got about 1/4 left of #2, Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi and remembered I have #1.5, Destroy Me (Shatter Me, #1.5) by Tahereh Mafi TBR. Oops.

How are you like Cass, Ezi? I'm hating this long wait between books 5-6. More than 1 yr between books in any series is too long, IMO.

message 327: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 2516 comments I'm on chapter 3 of Touch the Dark, so it's still good (LOL). I haven't gotten confused yet. I know Tony is the bad ass she keeps hiding/running from, so I am still clear on who the bad guy is right now

message 328: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments LOL! That one does tend to be a confusing in future books when there's a bunch of time jumping and stuff. Glad you're enjoying it.

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Steph wrote: " I think my husband will like that one, Val. I'll have to remind him that we have book 1 TBR."

Mmmmm. I defiantly liked the Night Angel series better than the Lightbringer one. It's still a good series and the concept about using colors as a mean of magic is interesting. There is a bit of a role playing game feel to it in the sense that physics, material properties and limitation are important in a somewhat mathematical way.

message 330: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Good to know. I think he has had the Night Angel trilogy for a while, but hasn't read it. I'll have to ask him. Thanks :)

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Better start with the Night Angel trilogy, I love badass assassins.

Finished Exiled (Brides of the Kindred, #7) by Evangeline Anderson , I have no idea why i keep up with this series. It's not spectacular or anything and I always gets mad at the H/h at the beginning of each book but then they do something I like and wish to know where the series is going. It's was supposed to be the last book....but there will be others.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 400 comments Steph wrote: "I agree, Val. It was a shift in the wrong direction - definitely tamped down my enthusiasm. Hoping for more prequel-like writing in book 2.

I still have to get that short either as an ebook or a kindle book.

Christal | 374 comments Just started The Lost (Celestial Blues, #2) by Vicki Pettersson and so far it's been a little slow. I really liked the first one though so I will continue on!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Finished with a efreebie No Remorse (Heart of a Wolf, #1) by MaryLynn Bast , there was a bit too much in it.

message 336: by Steph, Serious series addict (last edited Feb 13, 2013 06:57PM) (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments I'll let him know, Val, thanks! I love assassins too.

Finished Unravel Me (Shatter Me, #2) by Tahereh Mafi and it was a great mid-trilogy book. Nice character growth and story progress. Really anxious to read the big finale, though I've got another year to wait for it. Bleh! That sucks eggs.

First book syndrome, Val or just overload in general?

Happy Anti/Valentine's Day, SOSers!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments @ Steph, think first 3 books of Blood Destinies serie (as far as magic dump abilities and WTF moments) coupled with a few grammar, names mix-up plus small plot inconsistencies....in 200 pages. It could have worked if it was done in two books, it's all in the delivery. Idea is not bad, just not all at the same time.

message 338: by Steph, Serious series addict (new)

Steph (angel4492) | 32703 comments Gotcha! :)

message 344: by Regina (new)

Regina (reginar) | 2883 comments I loved my re-read of Fair Game (Alpha & Omega, #3) by Patricia Briggs -- O cannot wait for Frost Burned!

I read and finished these two arcs this week:

The Burning Air by Erin Kelly -- which was a psychological thriller. It was good. Decent. And The Office of Mercy A Novel by Ariel Djanikian which was an interesting dystopia. But I hated the ending.

I am reading NOTHING right now - not audio or with my eyeballs, lol. I am waiting for the card draw in fantasyland. :)

message 345: by Angie (new)

Angie (pinkindle) I started A Million Suns (Across the Universe, #2) by Beth Revis last night!

Valerie ~ Val Hall ~ | 9662 comments Done with Kiss of the Highlander (Highlander, #4) by Karen Marie Moning and The Dark Highlander (Highlander, #5) by Karen Marie Moning . Don't know what to read next yet.

message 348: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Finished Fever (Phoenix Rising, #1) by Joan Swan yesterday. It felt like an episode of Prisonbreak, with a bunch of cliches thrown in for good measure. It was well written just not for me.

Amy ~Lover of Books~ | 400 comments Finished Prodigy (Legend, #2) by Marie Lu last night and I really liked it!

Now reading Eternally Yours (Immortal Beloved, #3) by Cate Tiernan for FL.
