Good morning from a grey and drizzly Paris. I have my coffee and pain au chocolat and am ready to go with our discussion.

Bandwidth is about greed and terrorism -- in many ways the bookends of the first decade of the 21st Century. It's about what happens when disparate characters from different parts of the globe covet something and get in each other's way, sometimes unknowingly.

Let me start with a couple of questions: 1. How can we tell when a financial/economic is forming? 2. In what ways is Haydon Campbell's job important for telling the broader story of Bandwidth?

I look forward to discussing with you. Best.Bandwidth

Smk | 1 comments Question: How realistic is the relationship between Haydon and those for whom he writes speeches?

Quite real in the sense that there is no rule book for a relationship between a speechwriter and his client. It either works or it doesn't; they get along or they don't. What I hope came through in Bandwidth is that like any relationship, the relationship between Hayden and Cannondale evolves. It has hight points and low points and is certainly imperfect. The thing that makes Hayden successful with his clients is that he doesn't try to judge them he and doesn't forget that he is the hired pen and not the client.

Life meets art. EU's Galileo GPS satellite system discussed in Bandwidth is still over budget and delayed http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/07/wor...
