Fliss Blanch | 45 comments Can anyone recommend some books that are set in Central/South America, Africa (any country) the Middle East or Central Asia? I am a huge fan of historical fiction but aren't into romance novels. I love the kind of books that makes you feel as though you are there with the characters.

Claire | 143 comments Hummingbird House It has been a long time since I read it, but I remember liking it. I had remembered it as Nicaragua but blurb says Guatemala.

Claire, I read this a year and a half or so ago and really liked it too. I believe it was set in both Nicaragua and Guatemala.
