Currently I'm reading "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman and just finished "Warbreaker" by Brandon Sanderson. Seriously one of the best books I've eever read!

to all those starting or thinking starting a song of ice and fire: it is so good. it has everything in it that one would want from a book series and holds nothing back.

I finished reading the Chronicles of Amber series. It has quite interesting and different topic. Basically, there are two worlds; one of them is ruled with harmony and the other one is ruled with chaos. Both of these places represents bigger powers which were fighting from the start of the time and consciousness of the human being. So the rulers of these lands used as a tool in order to gain any means of favor in this battle. These royal families have enourmous powers because of the fact that they are the first borns and they are living at the origin of the power. There are lots of realities and also earth is one of them liked to visited by these godlike personalities. While traveling through these different realities, reader can find himself in an unexpected fantasiy which is making the story colourful. Also every book has its own mysteries solved at the end of the book. The idea of harmony and chaos looks like a cliche but the story makes the idea its own and thinking about the behaviours of human beings much more interesting than imagining how an elf respond this or is it really a dwarf passing through.. Of course I am excluding the Tolkien from my last comment.Have fun..

I'm currently reading Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut, The Call of Cthulhu by H.P. Lovecraft, and N is for Noose by Sue Grafton, which I really have no idea how it got on my bookshelf, but I've moved so many times lately, it probably belonged to a former roommate. I decided to give it a try and see what all the hype is about, but I'm going to have to force myself to finish it because I find it terribly boring. I had to get to page 90 before anything really happened.

I'm going to start reading "The Twelve Tribes of Hattie" by Ayana Mathis. :)

Just finished reading Stay by Nicola Griffith. What a great read. Lovely flawed characters, beautiful writing, poetic, sharp, gritty. It kept me up late.

I'm currently reading The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials #3) by Philip Pullman - and I'm loving it! I just finished Divergent series and I recommend it. Veronica Roth is a very good writer :D And also you may have seen the movie, but the book is amazing! -> The Time Traveler's Wife - by Audrey Niffenegger

Well I am reading Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick. This is the second book in the series of Hush Hush. Really Loving it so far almost done overall a good and enjoyable read. I am also reading Reached by Ally Condie which the third book in the Match series and I find it very enjoyable to read. Overall both very good and fast pace reads. Also both are books you don't want to put down.

i just finished reading that book about two weeks ago. In was, in fact a pretty good book. i enjoyed it and completely agree with your opinion. The kindle book was $0.99 so not only was it at a great price, but it wasnt bad at all. It was actually pretty enjoyable:)

I'm currently reading "A visit from the goon squad" by Jennifer Egan. I can't give a recommendation yet as I am only a few chapters in. I am also reading Machiavelli's "The Prince" for uni. I think I would have to recommend The Alchemist by Paulo Cohelo, The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the nighttime, and anything by David foster Wallace, Augusten Burroughs and John Green.

I just finished reading Stolen Night by Rebecca Maizel (Book #2 of the Vampire Queen Series) and I found the ending to be absolutely wonderful! It almost made me tear up.
Also, I am STILL currently reading Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver. Many people say it's good but I can't seem to get myself to read the next page. In other words, I'm getting bored by it. But then again, I'm only at the first few chapters of the book... I'll try to continue on--- but then again, maybe i'll still put it on hold and read another book then get back to that one :P

*For those who have read Before I Fall, should I continue reading it? Was the ending worth it?

Idk but i absolutely love the book i hunt killers by barry liga i dont know if you would tho it is very very good! He is making a sequel to it called game!! IM SO EXCITED it's supposed to be out in 2013

For any women that are interested in a guilty pleasure love story (more mild than the 50 Shades series) I do recommend Gabriel's Inferno and the sequel. I'm also extremely glad I finished The Hobbit finally, the last 100 pages made the build up worth it.

I was thinking about reading The Hobbit but i wasn't sure, now i will give it a try :)

The long post is great!! Gives us wll plenty of recommendations. I've read the Fifty Shades series, and they were fine, but I've been interested in reading Gabriel's Inferno for a while now. Do you think it's better than Fifty Shades?

A Sealed Fate

'A Sealed Fate' is not my usual kind of read and so I didn't expect much, but I was surprised to be hooked from the first chapter and devoured the whole book in one sitting!

I was impressed by the tightly plotted structure, unusual in a first novel, and even at the most shocking moment, everything still made sense. I have to be careful not to spoil the plot for other readers, but although I was completely surprised by the action of one character, I didn't have any trouble believing the event... the character was so fully rounded, and described so well in earlier chapters. I wonder if I would have been so shocked if a male character in a similar situation had done the same thing. Probably not, so I learned something about myself there!

Although the themes of the book are serious, Ms Gordon has a light touch and a rich vein of humour runs throughout. I laughed out loud on the train more than once. The story is thoroughly modern, but spiritual themes are woven into the plot and the motivations of the characters with a deft hand: a reader without an interest in these subjects would not be bored, but a reader with some knowledge might notice the cleverness of many little details in the writing... extra fun for me!

But the best thing about this book is the characters. The author understands so well how people hang together, how one thing in life relates to another, and how we tend to act in line with our personalities, no matter how perverse this may occasionally be! A real warmth shines through the writing... this author really cares about these characters and I really fell in love with the two main ones! I had a bit of a crush on the love interest too!

My one regret is that we did not get to find out more about Larissa's life beforehand, and I would love to know what happened next. I do hope that the author is planning a sequel, or even a prequel!

OMG, i want to read the book just by the way you described it !! It sound like an amazing book :)

I'm on my phone at the moment so I can't quote text. as far as The Hobbit went, I had started it back in November and read a couple hundred pages and just kept putting it off over and over due to life and reading other things. But when I picked it up around the 208 page marker, I couldn't put it down til it was finished. (: so fair warning, I found it tedious but in the end rewarding.

And as far as the comparison between 50 Shades of Grey & Gabriel's Inferno, I definitly preferred the later. The context and details is more on an adult reading level, something I fell 50 Shades was lacking. The consistent comparison of Gabriel and the love story to Dante and his own love with Beatrice was very nicely executed.

Finally started reading The Hunger Games. I finished that book in one day. I'm already 1/3 through Catching Fire. I must say, I really enjoyed the first book!

I'm currently reading The Hunger Games! Most of you probably read it already but im finally getting around to reading it since I finally have it! And i have some time as well. And I love it so far! And yes I watched the movie too;) so i have a clear picture of the characters and scenes when I read it.

I am currently reading The Awakening the second book int the darkest powers series.

I'm reading Fevre Dream by George R.R. Martin. It's fantastic, it's similar to Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice.

I JUST bought Interview with the Vampire and I cant wait to read it. I also have the Game of Thrones to read by George RR Martin but I haven't gotten to it yet. Have you read that series?
