Trying to slog my way through the complete works of Lovecraft, H.P. on the Kindle.
I've also got a Masterton Graham book on the go, too. Have just finished The Snowman and now reading The Terror.Snowman And The Terror

Lastly, I finally got my birthday present - Dark Serpent. I cannot wait to read it, but first I have to finish the 2 above!

I started 'Graceling', but read reviews that it was a book packed with feminist views? I thought it started out good, but I don't want to get sucked into a huge story with strong feminist overtones.
Help! :)

For a recommendation: The Goodreads Choice Award winner last year for historical fiction was The Light Between Oceans. I have not read it yet, but have heard great reviews and have it on my TBR list.

Thank you Kristie, that spoiler wasn't such a huge deal, at least not to me. You've sold me on the idea of reading Graceling all the way through. I really like the feel of the book so far, it's very realistic and engaging.
I'll also look into the 'The light Between Oceans'. Thank you! :)

I just finished that book. I really liked it, but there is a cliffhanger, which I hate!

Just posted on my author page a blog I call CULTURE SHOCK. You know, the kind of thing you experience when you change countries, cultures and languages. Have a look and please leave a comment.
Best

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore was a cute and quick read, which I needed after reading Fight Club. The characters were all very likable and and the mystery was interesting. The book refers to authors, books and modern technology, which makes it refreshing. It was quite geeky, but I like that (a lot).
Although these books are very different, I would recommend them both.
Right now I'm reading Speaker for the Dead, the second book in the Ender's Saga, and Mockingjay, so I can finally finish the Hunger Games series.

Yes, it is! :)

ok thanks ... its on my to-read-list of the year hahaha XD

I have had it on my Kindle for a while now. Maybe I need to get to it.

I've been looking for some good westerns to read. Thank you! It didn't even occur to me to look up the Longmire series. I don't really know if it would be considered a western, but it's set in that beautiful country! Did you watch the show's first season? We loved it.

I also just finished Slaughterhouse-Five

I just finished reading that book also.

That is on my TBR shelf. It looks really good.

I didn't realize when I bought it that it was possibly a detective series. I'm not really into those books (I used to be) but this is very good and I look forward to going back to it so that is a good sign.

I am now reading Unfettered, a short story collection by some of my favorite authors, the proceeds going to a great cause. Reading these stories is a little like visiting old friends, even reading the introduction was fun.

Under the Never Sky Through the Ever Night and Into the Still Blue

Hi Nyree - May I recommend our historical adventure-romance Fiji: A Novel, co-written by son James and I after several research trips to exotic Fiji?
The Kindle Book Review describes it as "a perfect combination of romance and action.”
