My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Kelly (and the Book Boar) I read More Than This by Patrick Ness yesterday. I just couldn't put it down. Highly recommend - don't let the YA label fool you if that's not typically your genre.

message 2204: by Manish (new)

Rachel Davis (galifrey) Reading through these comments, I've added to my "to-read" list.

November has been dominated by City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare City of Glass (The Mortal Instruments, #3) by Cassandra Clare and currently City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare .

Sometimes I take a break from the others and read some of American Gods (American Gods, #1) by Neil Gaiman , which I will eventually finish.

message 2209: by Gotobedmouse (new)

Gotobedmouse Slowly reading The Sweetest Hallelujah by Elaine Hussey for my book club. Think I am going to dive into the new "Black Falcon" Rock the Beat (Black Falcon, #3) by Michelle A. Valentine .
And still slowly reading the "Phantom Tollbooth" with my son.
Going to Seattle in a couple of weeks and hoping to find a good used bookstore and then get a cup of coffee at the original Starbucks.

message 2210: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g | 129 comments Currently reading Blood and Betrayal by Lindsay Buroker. Can't get enough of the Emperor's Edge Series! Also reading Days of blood and starlight which is shaping up to be as good as (maybe even better than) the first book so far.

message 2211: by Equine Dragon (new)

Equine Dragon | 83 comments I am finally-Finally reading Divergent, and I am surprised at how much I like it. I honestly didn't think I would like it much. I'm not a big fan of dystopian. But this is pretty great.

message 2212: by Marian (new)

Marian Ruiz I'm currently reading Shooting Scars, Book 2 of The Artists Trilogy. So far, so good and I've never read a book like this before. It's a page turner and it's really good.

message 2216: by Yuli (new)

Yuli | 3 comments I'm currently reading The Well of Ascension (Mistborn, #2) by Brandon Sanderson , the second book of the Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson :)
It's an amazing and well written series so far!

message 2217: by kierra (last edited Nov 12, 2013 11:12AM) (new)

kierra (karmania) I finally started the City of Bones and... I have no idea why everyone likes it. The characters are like 5 years old and the dialogues are written for kids only.
I finished the Unearthly novel recently and I liked it much more than this one.

message 2218: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g | 129 comments Kierra I didn't like it either. It recieved a very lovely one star review. However for reasons I don't fully understand I read the next two in the series. It does get better but don't expect the series to be amazing. The writing is still not great and the character development is poor. Still it's good enough to make a movie out of I guess.

message 2219: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g | 129 comments Yuli - I love Brandon Sanderson to bits. I've finished book 2 of the mistborn trilogy and am looking forward to reading the third. Seriously anything written by this man is worth picking up.

Yes I heard! :D Will you read the fourth too? Though I heard it's years after the first set of books.

message 2221: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g | 129 comments Yes I will. It's to be another trilogy apparently. I'm sure it will be good too. Have you read The way of Kings (also by same author)? I'd recommend reading those after your done with mistborn.

No not yet, but thanks! I was wondering what to read after this series.

Avid Reader and Geek Girl (avidreaderandgeekgirl) | 1572 comments Reading Defending Jacob by William Landay Flawless (Pretty Little Liars, #2) by Sara Shepard finished City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2) by Cassandra Clare much better than the first!

message 2224: by Gotobedmouse (new)

Gotobedmouse Finished The Sweetest Hallelujah by Elaine Hussey what kept going through my mind:

A big helping of "Beaches", a heaping cup full of "the Help". a dash of "Dream with little Angels", and a light sprinkling of Steel Magnolias, garnished with some Fannie Flagg vernacular.

I was going to start reading "The Book Thief", but now I am broke and in the mood for some "fluff" so I dived in my box of cheap used trash books and discovered: The Lass Wore Black by Karen Ranney

message 2225: by Erica (new)

Erica Zulauf I am in the middle of Divine by Blood by P.C. Cast and Revealed by P.C. and Kristin Cast. Both are pretty awesome.

message 2226: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinpickell) | 421 comments Currently re-reading: Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE, Vol. 1 (Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE #1) by CLAMP Magic Knight Rayearth I, Vol. 01 (Magic Knight Rayearth I, #1) by CLAMP & Magic Knight Rayearth II, Vol. 01 (Magic Knight Rayearth II, #1) by CLAMP . It will finish up my CLAMP challenge.
Next up are Sapphire Blue (Precious Stone Trilogy, #2) by Kerstin Gier & A Study in Silks (The Baskerville Affair, #1) by Emma Jane Holloway , which are also the last two books on my TBR list for this month.
So excited, I might get ahead on my TBR reading!

I think it portrays a case of depression leading to suicide very well. Every case is different and while there is a list of tell-tale signs, a person does not always fit into the checklist. It's supposed to make you think of how easily someone could fall through the cracks and to consider how you affect other people. I've been through depression and it is very common to shut out the world and those trying to help.

message 2246: by Gotobedmouse (new)

Gotobedmouse Just finished a book out of my cheap used books box The Lass Wore Black by Karen Ranney . Going on a trip in a couple of days and downloaded a lot of trashy books so I guess I will start on them.

If you are looking for a cheap trashy e-book read, I would recommend The Black Falcon series Rock the Beat (Black Falcon, #3) by Michelle A. Valentine . They are really well written.

Rob (in_the_stacks) Shades of Earth by Beth Revis.

The most unrecognized dystopia books. I love that series...

message 2249: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (remyreads) | 5 comments I just finished The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I loved loved loved this book. I hear the movie version now out isn't as good as the book. I can totally see that, the best part of the book were the descriptions and the way words were used. I very much recommend this book. I just started The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. It's my first time reading one of his books so I'm interested to see if I turn out to be a fan of his or not.

message 2250: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Davis (galifrey) I just bought The Book Thief! I've heard it recommended so many times here I had to get it.

I'm currently reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods. I've been reading it off and on and I keep coming back to it, so I'll probably try more of his books.
