Raymond Mathiesen (raymondmathiesen) | 23 comments Armageddon and the 4th Timeline by Don Mardak
Book Review by Susan McMichael
4.5 out of 5 stars

A thrilling ride from the first page…

Armageddon and the 4th Timeline by Don Mardak is a thrilling ride from the first page. This science fiction novel combines time travel, spiritual themes, a fascinating mix of characters and modern intrigue to create an unputtable down novel.

We meet the CIA Director, Scott Cunningham, a former Navy SEAL, and his Assistant Lori Colbert, addressing a meeting after a terrible terrorists attacks. We also meet husband and wife Kathy and Eric who are in Lhasa, Tibet, on a spiritual quest. Through Eric's time travel, both worlds intersect. Mardak's premise throughout the novel is that there "is a spiritual universe, and mankind has the ability to rise into a higher level of consciousness where all conflicts can be resolved peacefully without resorting to wars, or threatening a nuclear holocaust.”

Sasha Sinclair (SashaSin) | 3 comments next of sin

Currently reading this outstanding and gripping book.

Filled with danger, suspense and surprise but not depending on blood, bullets, and gore like many novels. This is a quality thriller that delivers entertainment without predictability.

Quirky at times, amusing in places and downright dark in other places.

A psychological thriller with a legal/conspiratorial subplot - highly recommended to those who enjoy complex characters and contemporary writing.

Donna (bibliocrazy) | 12 comments I just finished the Ruby Red trilogy, a YA time traveling series. I am currently reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.
A young boy in New York City, Theo Decker, miraculously survives an accident that takes the life of his mother. Alone and determined to avoid being taken in by the city as an orphan, Theo scrambles between nights in friends’ apartments and on the city streets. He becomes entranced by the one thing that reminds him of his mother, a small, mysteriously captivating painting.

Krista (ex-libris) | 1 comments I'm currently reading The Marbury Lens, and I'm not quite sure what to think about it yet, to be honest. It's definitely different than anything I've read in a long time, but it's intense and a little...trippy. I really think I'm going to end up liking it, though. (Also, it's gory, so if that bothers you...this isn't the book for you!)

Katie.g | 129 comments I'm reading the Lies of Locke Lamora. It's absolutely fantastic! A must read for people who like reading about daring cons and an incredibly smart but not good at fighting, main character. Don't like them too perfect!
