Redd Kaiman (reddkaiman) | 12 comments Hi guys,

I was wondering what blogs you guys read on your own (not including yours).

I like zenhabits.net for better living and groovyageofhorror.blogspot.com for better horror.

What about you?

Sophia (Bookwyrming Thoughts) (hannahsophialin) | 346 comments I prefer reading YA and unique blogs. Also those with their own personality and not just monotone while sounding boring (like I was with my gaming blog. My cousin and I decided to close it after that.) Those with interesting posts also grab my attention, along with other stuff. :3

EDIT: of course, anything of the interest, regardless whether unique or not, with your own style/personality grabs my attention too.

I read book blogs, but I watch vlogs more frequently I suppose. It won't be a surprise that booktubers are a very high percentage of my subscriptions.

Ruth Crocker | 2 comments I like the blog, "Brevity." I think it is created by Dinty Moore who has recently written a book about flash non-fiction.

★RavenclawReader★ (stargazer101) I like blogs about YA fantasy books, names, and movies.

i really like blogs that feature ya books, but fantasy and sci fi will do as well.a big plus is when they feature a lot of multicultural themed titles

Kelly | 32 comments I mostly read book blogs that feature YA and/or fantasy books. I'm also big on critical reviews. Usually, if I see every single book getting a 5-star rating, I won't be interested in the blog.

yea there are a lot of bloggers who only rate books they know they'll love therefore if they have something negative to say, they'll choose to pass on reviewing it.

I prefer honest reviews, whether you liked it or not. Not every book, even classics, appeals to the taste of every reader. It's just the way it goes...

I understand passing on the negative reviews, but I feel like they're a very necessary part of reviewing. If everyone refused to write a negative review, even the really bad books would have incredibly high ratings. But that just may be my picky reader showing haha.

I do agree. I'm currently reading a book right now and I bought it due to all the GREAT 4-5 star reviews it got. However reading it, I'm not sure how anyone could have rated it so high as it has sooooo many grammar issues. The author does a lot of telling not showing and the story is far from anything exquisite.

Had people been more honest about the book I may not have even bought it.It will be just be another book on my shelf that I'll never pick up again. Trust me when i'm through with it, I plan to give it MY honest review

I've read more than a few like that haha. There's one I still don't know how managed to get published, it was so bad. But the rating was 4.02. That's why I make sure to be honest with my reviews, even if it's not always very nice.

My blog is PaperFantasies, but you already found it lol.

By the way, your blog is great! I love your post on pushy first-time authors and how you and your sister don't want to market that way!
