You'll have to do the chopping, Michael.
Only Simon and I have delete powers. ;)
Well, I reckon, each to their own.
I know several groupites have mentioned they like reading on their iPad or tablet or pc or whatever.
I think the important thing is the love of reading, not the device.
I believe some people still even use *gasp* PAPER!!!

I iz proud :)

I find my Kindle Keyboard is ideal for reading books without illustrations, tables or pictures, however all my technical books are read on my iPad.

All the devices have their strong & weak points, even if it's just price. For example I'm less inclined to take my expensive iPad out and about to places it might get broken or nicked, when I can take the Nexus or KPW. The KPW excels on the beach or the plane, or places where you may not have power for days, or - dare I say it - if you are desperate to read in the bath (it's much cheaper to replace than a £600 iPad if you drop it!)

Kindle Keyboard to read normal books on, laptop for some books (cloud reader)
I'm debating between a baby kindle and kindle fire for a backup to my kindle. The only thing against the fire is the touch screen which I'm not keen on.

You are like my MIL Janet, she has had 3p on her phone for longer than I have known her and so long as she has 1p on her phone she gets 5 free texts a day. She uses FIL's phone if she needs to phone or send more texts.

I need that plan!! I get a month free whenever I top up, so I top up before I go away or something when I know I might be sending more texts.

you use the email address they use for their itunes account

However, the turbo on my car disintegrated on the way home from a course (cost me over £1000 so far) so I guess that was indirect punishment.
I haven't yet picked up my Kindle again. I'm still in the middle of reading Barry Cunliffe's Britan Begins though, so there's some excuse...
I was very happy with my Kindle (the one with the tiny keyboard) and have 90 odd books on it (and I've read them all).
But then I got a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 7.0 free with a monthly phone deal in November. I decided I finally needed a phone after loathing them for years. The free tablet was a surprise.
Out of curiosity I downloaded the kindle Android app. Well, now i'm doing all my reading on the Galaxy. The screen is brighter, the text crisper and of course all the illustrations are in colour (I just got Barry Cunliffe's Britain Begins and its quite something). I like being able to turn the page with a flick of a finger too.
Sad to say it makes the Kindle look old and clunky - and I've only had it since March 2011. Carphone Warehouse are still doing the deal in the UK too - if you haven't got a kindle yet, this is the way I'd go.
I feel a bit of a traitor but it is a cost-effective way of getting into e-books if you happen to need a phone.
