Andrea (angbarry) | 14 comments Inexcusable by Chris Lynch is a moderately paced book that is extremely easy to follow. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and would suggest it to anyone. I find the book to be well thought out and extremely relatable. Throughout Inexcusable, you witness Keir the main character face an internal struggle of who he really is. This, I believe is something we all go through at one point or another and the story line in my opinion was just brilliant.
To pick out just one favorite part of Inexcusable is very difficult but I really enjoyed the moment when Keir was no longer in denial of the things he had done and the person he was becoming. Keir throughout the story spent all his time convincing himself that regardless of his actions he was not this monster he really acted as. At one part in the book Keir matured and held himself responsible for the person he was becoming. I thought this moment was vital to the book because it's something we can all relate to having to own up to our mistakes and it's really a nice thing being able to witness Keir grow throughout.
Having loved this book it's tough to criticize but one thing that bothered me was how they never gave a clear answer of if the rape between Keir and Gigi actually happened. Although sounding like it did, they never gave a definite or said if Gigi was exaggerating or what. The room for questions that Chris Lynch leaves is annoying!
All in all, Inexcusable by Chris Lynch in my opinion was tremendous. It's a terrific read that I would suggest to any crowd. I love the way it made me think and almost forced me to put myself into the main character's situation. In life, at one time or another you find yourself trying to justify why you might have done something and being able to follow Keir's internal struggle was extremely neat. The message this book gives out is something everyone can learn from and I'm just waiting on the sequel!
