That's just bad fucking instruction. Every teacher should know that.

Sarah (songgirl7) So, we get to class today, and, surprise! It's an open book exam. Except that the book is the Norton Anthology, and the exam is about nine pages long. So flipping through the book takes up half the time! AND, we were specifically told that it would NOT be open book, so half the students didn't bring their books to class (fortunately, I did). Ugh.

I left about six or eight questions unanswered. I thought about guessing, thereby increasing the chance of a correct answer, but the increase would be infinitesimal considering the amount of material from which to choose. After talking with some other students after class, it sounds like no one completed the whole exam and that six or eight questions are fewer than most left unanswered. Maybe he will grade on a cruve. It's stressful because the ONLY things we'll be graded on in this class are this midterm, one research paper, and the final. So this midterm is probably a third of my grade. Gah!!

In other news, though, I got an A on my philosophy paper (198 out of 200).

Sarah (songgirl7) Lori, I go to community college. Although I'm probably going to have to drop out (again) and go back to work full time (again). This economy SUCKS.
