Thanks Jon! This is definitely a challenge that encourages stretching! Looks like Luann might be the one to beat tho. God the speedreaders you find on GR. How do you do it???
I'm back! I know I missed the last couple reporting updates but I was away from internet access. Then I lost my spreadhsteet and had to redo the whole thing... My update is:176 shelves
12 books
One new book for me, but no new shelves. So I'm at 144 shelves
8 books
I've been away (but have been reading!)My total now is 8 books and 130 shelves.
Still working on cleaning up the mess I made over the first two months, so will just report where I am at right at this stage of fixing it: 84 shelves, 12 books. I'm only about 1/3 through the shelves for touching, hence the low number and some of my books I've read in the meantime are new or pre-releases and don't count. I think I'll have the right count by next report.

Perpendicularandi...You should only count the first 5 pages of shelves for each book. The only reason I mention that is that there are only 300ish shelves on our list...

I figured it out. I have 74 shelves in one book and 100 shelves for the second book. That makes 174 for both books.
I'm sorry. I just figured out the first book had 54 instead of 74, so my total is:154 with 2 books

Haven't touched either of those yet - believe it or not. But browsing your shelves Mr. Jon, I found what MUST be your erotica choice, because it was rather shocking! Then I thought - OOOOOOh...the Shelf Challenge! And it all made sense.....:)
Have you read that yet by the way? I'd have to hide that one from my daughter for sure. I think I should be able to count one of J.D. Robb's "in Death" mysteries. They're pretty close.
