Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments Okay, I've just spent an hour of frustration, with no luck, so I am going to have to ask for help.

I read somewhere that it was better to have feeds from Goodreads going to your fan page on Facebook and I thought that was a good idea. So I deleted the app from my personal page, deleted it from my profile here and carefully followed the steps in the slideshow that told you how to connect to a fan page rather than a personal page. The problem is that every time I reach what should be "Which page do you wish to connect to?" I get a lovely bright page that says "You are connected to Goodreads. Good Choice!" If I try to do it as my author page, it tells me I have to be logged in as me. So now I have no app and no way of fixing it that I can see. Any computer wizzes out there with a solution? (I've tried logging out and in from both sites. That doesn't work either.)

Hopefully one of our lovely geeks can help when they wake up.

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments Are you close enough to prod them? :-)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I could use Elle's pointy stick if we lengthened it...

Would need to be REALLY lengthened though.

Perhaps we should just throw rocks.

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments I hope you get some useful advice - I couldn't work out how to get Goodreads working with my author page either.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Geoff's around now. I'll tell him to look at your thread.

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments That Goodreads author app for Facebook has been broken for months.

message 10: by Katie (new)

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments Ah. Has anybody told them?

message 11: by Michael (new)

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 2992 comments Yup!

There's some proper forums around somewhere, I've seen it mentioned there before.

Andrew Lawston (andrewlawston) | 1774 comments Ah well, that's that then :(

Geoff (G. Robbins) (merda constat variat altitudo) (snibborg) | 8204 comments Have a look at this link, Kate. There seems to be some advice here.

Katie Stewart (katiewstewart) | 817 comments Hmmm, I followed that link and did what it said, but it still only allowed me to do it as me, not as Katie Stewart, Author. I already had that, but I wanted to change. Thanks anyway, Geoff.

message 15: by Elle (new)

Elle (louiselesley) | 6579 comments Yup Michael is right, it hasn't been working properly for months. A lot chat about it in the official groups.

message 16: by Lance (new)

Lance Charnes (lcharnes) I was able to get the GR app "working" on my author page. However, it works differently there than it does on my profile.

The GR app on my author page lets people bring up my shelves and link out to my reviews.

The GR app on my profile is supposed to post links to my reviews on my timeline. It does, but no one can see them except for me, nor can anyone else see the app on my profile. I complained to GR Support, who pointed a finger at FB Support, and nothing has been done. *sigh*

Simon (Highwayman) (highwayman) | 4276 comments I think it if fine to hold an e "ee" and even an l. "lll" But I don't think it is possible to hold a p. So it should be "Heellllp"
