Aslı Özenç (asliozenc) | 11 comments Hi everyone.I'm reading Hero of Ages right now and I really love Mistborn trilogy.I'm looking for new series to read similiar to this one.Any suggestions?

Brandt Hmm.. How about trying Butchers Codex Alera?

And if you liked Mistborn, remember to pick up The Alloy of Law..

Igor (igork) | 49 comments Hmm, actually there is no series alike Mistborn, not that I encounter, and I was looking like mad after finishing all four books. Simply, that magic system is so outstanding and so unique that left people either in awe or they didn't like it at all. Further more, everything else in the series came just about right.
Anyway, I'm not sure I would want to read something similar to it unless it comes from Sanderson himself.

Aslı Özenç (asliozenc) | 11 comments Igor of course I'm not looking for something too similar.I'm exactly like you now,I'm lloking like crazy to find something which will give me the same feeling.Mistborn is like Earthsea to me,a well builded unique world, not like some Middle-earth wanna be.So I'm looking for that.

Brandt I'll try Codex Alera, thanks, and of course Alloy of Law is on my to read list

Igor (igork) | 49 comments I just saw The Way of Kings on your to-read list, well there you go, couldn't be better recommendation!
Also, if you want sci-fi escape, Leviathan Wakes and follow up are fantastic and third book coming out 4th of June.

Kelly Graus | 1 comments Sorry to reopen an old thread, but you might want to try The Black Prism and The Blinding Knife by Brent Weeks. When I read it, I couldn't help thinking that the magic system was very much like something that Brandon Sanderson would come up with.

Tara (tarabookreads) | 58 comments I would also recommend The Black Prism by Brent Weeks. Very interesting magic system.

Rey More' | 9 comments Black Prism was very good. I have fallen in love with the series of books The House War by Michelle West. the world building and types of magic are very akin to what Sanderson uses but there is additional depth and characterization that makes the books a real treat. I am a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson and am in the middle of his Memories of Light conclusion to the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. He is a real talent and also takes the time to connect via e media with his fans and readers. Looking forward to the second book of Way of Kings series coming out this year......enjoy!!!!
