More Chronicles???

But, unlike Johnathan, I don't fancy either of them on their own. IMHO they are perfect only when together. So I guess that leaves room for only 1 or 2 more novels, somewhere in between the Chronicles and the Revelations.
I've read all of the Riyria books (a couple of times, actually) and would love more. Royce and Hadrian's younger days, perhaps, as someone else mentioned. I'd like to see more of Royce and Gwen's relationship -- that's the romantic in me talking. But, really, the pair of them building their partnership is what it's all about.
I'm a big fan of all things Riyria and I would be sad to see them go. To me Royce and Hadrian are reminiscent of Spenser and Hawk, (another two of my favorite characters from a completely different genre)and I think what separates them from other characters is the dynamic within their relationshiop. I think it would be interesting to see how we went from an adversarial relationship, to one of respect to the close bond and implicit trust they share when we first met them in the other series.
I'm enjoying watching their relationship develop!

Yeah, as I said on another thread, that is mainly what I expect from the possible 1 or 2 more Chronicles novels - these two probably need to save each other's asses a few more times, until they form that REAL close bond...

Stand alone books would be easy for the reader to pick up and the author to put down.
I'd also like to read about their past lives before the crew teamed up. I am not a big fan of monster, epic sagas but maybe separate duologies or trilogies about their lives in the Black Diamond and the jungles would be interesting, and I can imagine, a whole lot of fun. There's never enough jungles in fantasy these days!

I think that there is a space for one more novel in the chronicles and 5-6 short stories. Too many prequels (novels) can give you a feeling that Hadrian and Royce have done more before the events in the main series and that will be weird. But you can write prequel short stories as many as you want.
Also, I think that a sequel some 30 years in the future can be excellent, with a developed world with a few problems, where our duo comes back together to deal with them. They are grumpy and old, wise but 'saw it all' kind of attitude. Think about it :)
That's my honest opinion. But I would read anything you wrote from now on ...

Thanks for writing these books!

I'm so glad you are wanting more...and my wish is your command. I'm pleased to announce the third Riyria Chronicle coming November 2015! Here's some details on The Death of Dulgath, feel free to add it to your shelves. The title may change before release but I'm writing it now and it's coming out really well!
Three times they tried to kill her. Then they hired a professional. She hired Riyria.

When the last member of the oldest noble family in Avryn is targeted for assassination, Riyria is hired to foil the plot. Three years have past since the war-weary mercenary Hadrian and a cynical ex-assassin Royce joined forces to start life as thieves-for-hire. Things have gone well enough until they receive the odd assignment to prevent a murder. Now they must venture into a forgotten corner of southern Avryn—a place that predates the empire. As usual, challenges abound as they try to anticipate the moves of an unknown assassin before it’s too late. But that's not their only problem as The Countess of Dulgath hides a dark secret she's determined to remain hidden. Then there's the little matter about Riyria's new employer...the Nyphron Church.
