How was The Autobiography of My Mother? I am considering it or my next stop in Dominica.

Hi Diane,
The book tells the life story of a black woman in stream of consciousness style. The writing is wonderfully sensual and rhythmic and even though some paragraphs are 3 pages long the cadence pulls you along. Many wry comments on men, both black and white, and what it means to be a strong woman in Dominica. I read this book because I needed a book for Dominica and even though I am not much of a fiction reader, I enjoyed it because it was so different and so pro-woman. Worth the read.
